Default Ignite E98 vs Ignite 114

I'm about to buy 4 barrels and thinking what I want to use. I'm ordering one barrel of 114 for a customer and my Evo buddy wants a barrel of E98. So I'm ordering 2 for myself, just want some opinions. (shipping if free from my local distributor on a 4 barrel order)

My setup is built SRT-4 engine (8.5:1 compression) with built/race ported head, S400 67mm with 1.25 housing, custom twin scroll manifold, FIC 2150s, Magna Fuel Pro Tuner 750 with sumped steel 95 Neon tank, -10 feed and -8 return. That's the jist of it.

I've done a ton of tuning on pump E85 and love it, but don't feel like dealing with the potential inconsistencies with the fuel for a primary track car.

So if you guys would post up your opinions that would be great. The usage of Ignite fuels seems to be heavy on this forum compared to the SRT-4 one.

I have tuned/used both. The ignite yellow (e98) is pretty incredible stuff. I did not notice any real difference in power with the ignite red switch on my personal car. I would just personally buy the yellow and mix with unleaded gas if you have class rules to meet a e85 standard. On a Evo application I was in the 90% IDC range at 800 whp on ignite yellow with ID 2000cc's and dual 044's in parallel with 55 psi base pressure.

Good info Jeff!

I'm not gonna mix the fuel, I'm looking to keep it simple to an extent. I'm thinking Ignite 114 will be fine. I don't have any real class rules to fit into fuel wise. I'm mostly running IFO races and a local 1/8th mile series. I'll be at WCF in November.

See I'm considering the 114 primarily for it not being as rough on the injectors and pump. It's $60 a barrel cheaper for E98, but I'm not worried about $60 at this point. lol.

I've got a local distributor that I can get the E98 a little cheaper then that for. I'm gonna call him tomorrow and place my order.

Wow, $6.18 per gallon... I should definitely get into the Ethanol game. I was planning on selling drums right at $300-305.00 per drum.

the gas you mix it with will be any race gas does not matter what octane as long as its not pump gas. "Non Oxygenated fuel"

I recently picked up 2 barrels of E98 (forget the brand, but its a race gas blend) off craigslist for $300.

Stuff is cheap up here in the corn belt... I figured about $3.00 a gallon for it in that deal, and about $3.30 a gallon if I buy it from a local distributor.

Thanks for the info. I'm running ID 2000cc's with a Magnafuel Pro Tuner pump, -10 feed and -6 return. I wanted to run E98 this season after having much success with pump E85 on a more mild setup.

Mixing LEADED fuels with Ethanol can actually decrease the fuels effective octane...be careful mixing you own stuff together or you can do more harm than good....research research!

While effective octane may drop... A large majority of people would benifit from the increased combustion speeds and flame front propogation characteristics.

I have been using leaded fuels to get a bit more power in the 60ft on my e85 turbo drag car sucesfully without hurting peak power.

Did you just say you use leaded fuel to get more power in the 60' on your E85 drag car?

Tony, you have a lot of experience with this stuff. Any pros or cons between the 98 vs the 114, besides it hurting the 60ft lol

LOL. I haven't compared the two directly on the same car. I'd put money on the 60' times being pretty similar between the two though.
