But don't you see brother, sounds like if you were not using the spool things may have had a different outcome.

With a spool, one side fails, other side is still rocking but now with more power.

damn that's scary, my guy just got into a accident on Friday in his hatch, lost control and the car flipped 3 times. He said he's going to put a roll cage in all his cars that he races in. But he's like you man still going to race no matter what evn tho he has a shattered elbow.

Can you post a pic of your slicks. I just dont think DSS PRO level axles will fail like that at 170mph.. I bet the axle lock ring popped out after the impact at that mph.

the axle came off after impact, the car would have went to the left if the drivers axle would have popped off the clip like you are claiming.

I am very confident that the drive shaft shop axles had nothing to do with your accident.

sorry for your loss but stop insinuating that the axle was the cause.

I was there that night and saw what happened. I was the one that found the axle popped out. The reason why we believe the axle caused the accident is because i asked Max what happened and he said he felt a vibration as soon as he let off the gas and thought it was the tire that blew out. We looked a the tire and couldn't find anything wrong with it besides being torn from sliding sideways. So i was looking around as we were pushing the car and one front tire was spinning and the other was on a dolly not moving because the drivers side axle was popped out.

The reason the car went to the right when the he let off is because Max leaves the car in 4th gear to help slow the car down. You can watch his in car videos and listen. So when he let off the gas the left axle popped out (Causing the vibration he felt) therefore applying all of the engine braking on the right front tire. Think of it as if you hit the brakes and the right front caliper was the only one working. It would pull hard to the right. Also you can see that the axle cup was getting beat up due to spinning at speed, if it would have popped out on impact there would be no signs of rotational damage.

Once again the left axle popped out under deceleration NOT under power causing the car to veer right instead of left.

I also run the DSS pro level axles and i had to expand the clip on my passenger side axle to hold properly, so it could be a simple fix be expanding the clip like i did.

First off NOBODY is insinuating ****, nor are you or me have the qualifcations to make the call as to what happened, an engineer or better would have to study video,car,and all data around accident to make the final reason.
Secondly, After reviewing more closely the tire may have been problem we/I may never know exaclty .........I can NOT blame any one part on my car for accident. **** happeneds and i have moved on to rebuilding it with the same axles and may ditch the spool idk yet.

The most important thing is your ok. Good luck on getting your car back together. Some people would've called it quits after an accident like that..
