didn't think about that. Got a point. What can cause a loss in top end power then that's hurting my car this bad.

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
at 500hp i pick up about 28mph. some of the real real fast civics pick up 40 something mph.
you need a tune. you will be happy you did. honestly though i dont think your 91 mph is too far off. everyone will say like shitt doggg i trap like 100mph with that setup, but we all know the internet is not reality. take your 91mph add that 5mph that everyone was down and thats 96mph, more than acceptable.
what was the density altitude that day?

no not at all. its related to the power the car makes.

you my friend have just made me understand my slip.
I plugged my numbers into the drag times.com calculator and my results :
Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
14.297 @ 94.904 MPH
Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
14.468 @ 93.764 MPH
Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines
14.659 @ 92.479 MPH
Guess the cali heat is to blame for my shitty *** times.

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
I don't want to make another thread so I figured id ask this question here. I have a stock throttle body and my intake pipe being 3.5" with a v-stack am I losing velocity.
I Have plans to install a Skunk2 intake manifold with bigger throttle body and some skunk stage2 tuners cams or gsc cams something that will make power and not have to rev past 8200 or 8500 rpm.
thanks for the input.

I prefer to match the intake pipe to the throttle body...
Think about how air is flowing threw the intake pipe... straight and nice... now when that 3.5'' pipe narrows down threw the coupler its going to follow the outside and cause turbulence in the air... this is why it would be better to match the intake pipe to the tb... 70mm is 3'' btw

well went back to the track switched it up to a 3" intake and produced slower times.
think the best time I pulled was a 15.3 @90

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
i would start with a tune and drag radials... you need to get that 60 foot down, more seat time will def help out

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
just get some radials i only cut a 2.0 60" on mine with the crappy bfg's and it runs 13.6-13.7 on 100% stock itr swap. you just need seat time and start playing with air pressure and suspension settings if you have adjustable

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
you can cut good 60ft's with roundy round slicks. i was cutting 2.0 consistent 60ft's with 23x8x13 hoosiers babying it out the hole on stock suspension with neuspeed lowering springs, this is when i started going to the drag strip. now im cutting 1.7's all day on 22x8x13 M/T drag slicks with a completely redone suspension. im confident that i can cut 1.8's with roundy round slicks with my setup cause i cut consistent 2.0 60ft's with my 185/60/13 hoosier r6 radials on vx wheels. so what im saying you can cut good 60ft's with roundy round(road coarse) slicks but not as good as true drag slicks but i wouldnt let somebody try to hustle me trying to say those goodyears are true drag slicks!!!

he doesn't want a lot for them maybe ill give them a shot **** might even get him to drop the price even more since their not tru drag slicks.

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
M/T 22x8x13 drag slicks 12-14psi depending on track conditions
Hossier 23x8x13 road coarse slicks 10-14psi depending on track conditions(but that was a long time ago and my setup is more dialed in and i have a ton more seat time now)
Hoosier R6 radials 185/60/13 10-12psi depending on track conditions

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
the hoosier radials i do the same procedure and let out cause they never bite rolling out of the box
the hoosier road coarse tires do the same and they would bite coming out of the box but with the added power i have now im not sure what they would do.
heres a shot of me doing a burnout, mines the green ek

Re: Help me understand my time slip please.
lightened flywheel wont hurt you. the burning oil could be affecting your performance slightly. if everything checks out then you need a tune. my tuner use to have a oem integra gsr a dc 4-1 one piece header, 2.5" exhaust, aem cold air intake, cant remember if it was with b16 or gsr trans, G.E. cam gears and s300 tuned by him and he ran 14.6@94-95mph, full weight, a/c, power steering, street tires, and yes the oem gsr intake manifold. so a tune might be the ticket.

Don't overthink this. Put your car on the dyno and see what it makes. Report back. Then you'll get a better estimation of what your car should be running.
