Re: fuel pump options
That's the same as saying if you run that red light, you might get in a wreck! Do you have a better test? Or something that can help us instead of just saying that type of statement?

Re: fuel pump options
Good news, the Deatchsworks pump is definately better than the Hasbro 255.. Obviously we only had one to test, so we cant see if the pump to pump consistentcy is better than the Hasbros (which are all over the map from one pump to the next). For a drop in pump, the DW is a good option, although if the preliminary numbers from the Aeromotive 340HP are correct, the Aeromotive would be better.. Here are the some of the results from testing done at Kinsler Fuel Injection.
On to the results:
Walbro 255 (Average of multiple pumps) vs. DW301 (single pump tested)
50 psi - 389 lb/hr ---- 450 lb/hr
70 psi - 318 lb/hr ---- 375 lb/hr
100 psi - 113 b/hr ---- 200 lb/hr
Internal relief begins to open at 72 psi on the DW301
full relief at 110 psi
Obviously, this is not comparable to an 044 by any means, nor would you want to use this pump at extremely high pressures, as the flow starts to drop off dramatically after 70 psi..

Re: fuel pump options
I think he means High Pressure instead of the Low Pressure but that is just how I read it.
Looks like the DW is a good alternative for those needing more flow but not pressure. How should the new Aeromotive stack up at higher pressures? What is the deal with this "special" 044?
Have a car that is maxing out an dual walbro setup but think its due to pressure and not flow so I am looking for replacement options. Would prefer to keep it simple and just drop something in the tank to replace the Walbros.

Re: fuel pump options
Well from my personal experience the walbro inlines suck. I went threw three in six months running q16. In my motor car dont know if they cant handel the fuel or what. But very disappointed in them. I have read this whole nine pages. Looking for a good one to run in my car. Looking at dual 044s because i am changing to E85.

Re: fuel pump options
The Walbro tested was a GSS342, and the 044 style pumps have never arrived, although they were paid for many weeks ago. Apparently, the "shipper" never ships my order, and now they are on backorder. Read between the lines on that one, I guess.

Re: fuel pump options
I think we kinda already did, it just didn't have their name on it at the time.
I posted those results a few pages back.
We tried to order some (we're a distributor for Aero.), but they informed us they won't have any in-stock until the end of this month at the earliest.

Re: fuel pump options
locash, thank you for sharing the results. Like we had stated before, we have had our results independently verified already, but we do understand people wanting to get their own verification. I will forward this flow info to our tech department and see if they have any comments they may want to add.
We will say that our DW 300 series pump was not developed nor intended to be the end all be all in fuel pumps. In-line pumps can still certainly have advantages, but we were aiming at filling a specific need for a better in-tank pump.

Re: fuel pump options
At 70 psi, it will support ~100+ more hp than a std. 255.
And if someone's shooting for more than 700 hp, they're going to have to upgrade more than just a drop-in pump anyway.
There will always be people with unrealistic expectations, not much anyone can do about that....

Matt, I think you should try the DW pump when it comes out...
50 psi - 389 lb/hr ---- 450 lb/hr - (15.6% more fuel)
70 psi - 318 lb/hr ---- 375 lb/hr - (17.9% more fuel)
100 psi - 113 b/hr ---- 200 lb/hr - (76.9% more fuel)
Based on what Justin's car is doing now...you either give these a try, and go with the boost-a-pump too, or just go straight to dual 044s which I'm pretty sure you arent trying to do
I forgot, have you verified if Justin has regular or HP pumps in there exactly?
Johnny's car is getting a DW pump as soon as they get here

Re: fuel pump options
I think the more important issue here is how well these pumps are going to last in the long run.I mean I am sure at 50 psi they will do just fine but when that gets cranked up a bit the life of the pumps may be shortened a bit.I am asking about whether you more knowledgeable guys think that will be an issue.

this link cracks me up because if you look on thier site, you can tell they were way big into bosch 044s, they also rate the bosch wrong and rate it lower than that 270 pump to begine with, hands down the bosch flows 300lph at 43psi. they say how the bosch is the baddest pump on the planet pretty much but then they wanna compare this pump to it, and compare at diff pressure ratios and so on
seems like a plot to sell pumps that thereis more of a markup on IMHO. there have been 340lph pumps on the market in the domestic world for quite some time now, and im sure its nothing different
