Of course it would be it's tom .
Tom knows I respect him but thats not the whole story. Come on tom...
Yes Fred didn't pay Ge but in part it was a result of GE bending him over. At the time the hott sellers were gears and manifolds. Two items which the design belonged to STR and me you (tom) both know this because fred had those old as prototypes behind his desk way before GE even made Car parts... they'd mostly delt in the aerospace ind. Anyways what happen was that golden eagle said Hey lets private label these parts to: (cam gear: venom, crower, Ichibahn, etc) the Manifold to : venom, Hp racing, Golden eagle itself, etc) So pertty much they whored out the product, So with the decline in sales do to so many selling the same product The comp. began to go down thus resulting in not wanting to pay.
Further more if I recall, Tom you were on salary and got paid well- so there is no reason why you should have been paid extra, unless you and fred had a different agrement. At least thats how I remember it. . On another note that project would never had been realized if not for Tom Jung. Your an old school racer with much knowledge > God bless. Freddy B.
P.S. FreddY G. owner of STR.

Re: FoCuS Drag car? (cptengineer)
Freddy if you only new the truth you would not be even talking in Fredy G place. Golden eagle only started selling products to other companys to recoup the moneys STR owed them. ( Can you blame them ) As for the manifolds you talk about those where also a scam. Those manifolds where made by a guy named Charlie Hup who was also scamed by the owner of STR for a s--t load of money. The two manifolds are so completly difrent one sheet metal that never worked and the billet ones Golden Eagle made that has set the bar for everyone to follow. You need to grt your history correct before you start talking about old times. And for your info I was on salary and I made him pay me cash because all of the checks he gave me bounced like a basket ball. But the moneys you talk about where for the parts I sold not for the car I built. Ford was to pay for the car but if you rember correctly freddy was having problems with his wife so he used my ford money to buy his wife a new ring and a car. So guess who flipped the bill?( Me out of my pocket). Now that is where the money comes from the STR owes me but you knew that right.
I am going to leave this alone for now as I am getting pissed just talking about it.
The only way I will forget about this whole thing is when Freddy delievers the focus to its rightful owner( AND THAT IS ME ) I take that back Vince ownes part of that car as well it says so in the law suit STR lost to Golden Eagle. LOL

LOL. Actualy I do remember the ring deal, that was pertty f-up. My bad tom, it's just been soo long. I remember when we alomost got standed out east cuz the money for racing was used on his wife's new kitchen. . I guess you are right in most things about this matter. He always had a knack for screwing people over. about 1 year ago I was trying or wanted to buy the car but couldn't contact anyone.
Anyways hope ur doing well. And quit getting pissed it's bad for your health. Ive
seen you spend too much time being pissed.

STR Who?
Not to drag out a sore subject, but who own's BDL Industries? I remember the STR debacle, but that was only from a purchasing standpoint. We couldn't get parts, but I did know anything about the parties involved.
The Blue Focus Drag Car was neat piece of work. It was one of the first imports vehicles i'd saw utlizing a dry sump back in the day.

Re: STR Who? (Rogue108)
BDL is huge, BDL owns BDL and then bought the STR line but not much left of it.
Most of the products are new and the old stuff was re-engineered a little better

Wow, now I'm a dick.... Thanks.
From what I saw of the car a couple weeks ago, it looked like it had chopped strands of 'glass on the inside of the decklid. It definitely didn't look smooth like the panels Hanneman made for Shaun's Focus.
Anyhow, it's been soooooo looooong, maybe the panels were changed since you made the originals. Oh, by the way, I didn't mean any disrespect.

Re: STR Who? (cptengineer)
To take this off topic again and beat a really dead horse. How did BDL get involved and why did they buy out STR's product line? I didn't think that STR was that much of a goldmine and there many similar products out there now. I was told that someone who was involved with STR took "hostile" control of the product line and merged under BDL after some legal wrangling, but we know how rumors go. If this is something that isn't meant to be aired publicly, then forget I asked.

thats about right, but there more to that. BDL is huge, they were just looking for a new venture, and after all the STR product line had a good rep for a while

BDL made the products for STR. STR ran out of money so they gave what product line they had over to BDL to sell off. Now BDL has their own product line. Some pretty much the same with little changes to make parts even better then before, and plenty of new products with new products in the works. They even have timing belts now.
BDL is HUGE. It stands for Belt Drives Limited. They have been doing stuff for motorcycles for years. Awesome company who stands behind each product!

The owner of STR at the time has a problem. He thinks it is ok not to pay the people who make his parts. Not one STR part was made at STR it was all made by the one and only Ted and Vince Tiaga of Golden eagle. Well STR never paid them and that is why golden eagle started selling the parts to all of us. There is more but I do not want to bore you guys with all of this bs. All I can say is that if it was not for myself Ron b LJ Garcia Vince Tiaga and the best machinest of all time Ted Tiaga. There would have never been a STR.
Thanks Ted, Vince, Ron and LJ for all the good momeries it was a blast while it lasted at STR</TD></TR></TABLE>
I am glad that I never agreed to let him private label my fiberglass doors back then... I just had a feeling about that dude.
