Re: Fastest FWD in FIS
I agree as well. It is a natural progression. Racing classes have rules and you build within the rules of the class. The rules of the class will always be pushed to the very limit of acceptable. That's what racing is about, giving yourself an advantage by any means possible within the rules of the class. If you are outside the rules of the class that is called cheating and I won't ever condone that as it takes away the spirit of the sport and class. Cliff has made quite a few changes to the rules of the FIS class over the last few years to keep it competitive and as fair as possible.
I find that most of the people complaining about the class getting faster are those who can't compete. They say it is a street car class and these aren't street cars. First off the class is called Forced Induction Sport. I don't see the word street car in the class name anywhere. Second, the term street car gets thrown around a lot and anymore the line is blurry. Cliff sets a turbo size limit, tire size and composition limit, full interior is required, proper tags and registration are required, etc. The funny thing to me is I see "street cars" running around all the time gutted with no back seats or limited interior. Half the time they don't even have the title in their name, let alone proper tags and registration. If I had a nickel every time someone told me they went to buy a Honda and the title was still in the previous owners name I would have a lot of nickels. I'm just putting it out there to keep it real.
We build cars to class rules, if we fit in class rules and go faster than you then we have done exactly what the spirit of racing is about. If you don't like it go run bracket class... Or you can accept the rules of the class and build your car around them if you want to compete.
