he definitely has to make weight at NOPI events, they are more strict then NHRA when it comes to weighing. Fuel is checked every pass as well. If he wins they will also pump his cylinders to see what his CC output is and make sure he was not underweight. I would say he is just under 1700 lbs from what I read before, maybe 1670 lbs.
That 1.33 is awesome, MIR is one of the best hooking tracks I race at and has been better then E-town and Atco many times.
Erick has his **** together! Congrats.
I am also impressed to see Lisa Feehely in the 10's now, they worked hard to get there and mostly on thier own against a lot of negatives!

Re: (95GLX)
The min weight in NDRA is 1500 lbs for FWD 4cyl cars. There is also a 0.7 lbs/cc rule. Erick claims just under 2.3 liters displacement, which puts him right near 1600 lbs. His car normally weighs in at 1610-1620.
Gasoline too, which is crazy. At the last race they pumped him, took oil samples and fuel samples. They do a good job of ensuring competitors are legit in the NDRA.

It might be 5 more yrs before we see a mid to low 9. I guess the track condition were good at MIR with all the records being broke. the previous atlanta event, the track sucked!! congrats to erick and STR!!!

Re: (MotorMatrix.com)
I think you'll see a 9.50-9.60 or better within 12 months of Erick switching to the K-motor. Or sooner if another quality team starts using a K before Erick does. The K-series has the potential for at least 50 hp more than a similarly sized B-series in a lighter package.
Guys like Bisi, L'Natural, Norris, etc. have enough chassis to run 9's with 20-30 additional hp right now (good day, good track). If they sort out their chassis, they could run 9's tomorrow with no additional power. By the time they switch to K-motors (don't know if Bisi will ever go that conventional :-), they'll have knocked a couple tenths off with chassis work and then mid-9's will be a matter of course.
Then again, I could be completely wrong. But once someone sets a standard, the rest of the competition usually finds ways to catch up. All you need to know is that it _can_ be done.

Re: (C_A_T)
I'm not really an all motor guy so i couldn't say otherwise. i'm just judging by how hard it is to knock 1/100 of a second off an all motor cars time. you may be right about the k series though. more HP can definietly be made all motor with that block and head!!

Re: (jdmclvlc)
I filmed his 9.99 run on my digi camera. The video itself sucks, but the audio makes up for it.

Re: (MotorMatrix.com)
I understand, I'm no FI guy :-). I've been fortunate enough to watch Erick's progression over the last year (about when I bought my dyno). I'd say his improvement from 10.50 to 9.99 is about half chassis and half power. I also think that the hp improvements available from the K-series will be double the improvements he's made in his B-series motors over that same time period. Hence the 9.50 estimate. Not to mention Erick thinks that the chassis still has a couple tenths in it with development. That is scary!

5 years? no way!!
Erick has ran a 9.99 at famoso was it? On the west coast during practice, he kept it a secret until he posted it on honda-tech not too long ago.
like C_A_T states, i agree that when the K series motors come out in full swing (bug/glich free) you will see some CRAZY times.
Maybe im a little too biased though.
