I've been living under a rock this week. I JUST heard about this a few minutes ago.

Mike, like everyone else, words cannot express how bad I feel. Earl was...is....one of the finest people I've ever met in or out of racing. His happiness at being able to spend so much time with you, doing what you BOTH loved, was so infectious. The pages and pages of comments prove that. I'll miss him as much as I've ever missed anyone in this business.

I know you'll be fine, 'cause you take after him in so many ways.

My condolences to you and your family.

Godspeed Earl. RIP

Even days after hearing the news, I can't keep the tears out of my eyes, such an unexpected tragedy. What a loss, people like Earl are a dying breed, and Earl was the best, THE best. Love always Earl.

This is very sad indeed, but i am glad that i got to know Earl and having been teamates with him and Mike in 03 was some of the best times i've had in my life and i feel honored to have been teamates with them. I have stories to tell for a life time and all of them good, let everybody remember him for who he was, a racer at heart,a kind person , someone who was always there to help you out and most of all a good man, Mike keep you head up. The whole family is here for you if you need us.

My father meant the world to me. He was not only my dad, but my business partner and above all others my best friend! This is by far the most pain I have been in my entire life! I felt so helpless and so alone. In times like these, my dad would be someone that would help me hold my head strong, and yet now I am walking this road alone. But every ones support and joy in the life with Earl, my father has kept me strong. I realized, I was not alone. I not only had my friends and family, but I had all of you on HT to keep myself and family strong! The acts of kindness to my family and all love you have shown my father has honestly restored faith in humanity! It really should show everyone how strong the import racing community really is. You guys all are some of the finest people out there and deserve credit for taking part in my dad's life and making him happy the way he was! My dad loved racing from every aspect. He loved being involved with the youth. It made him happy to know he could help people with the most simple question to those where I can still here him say, "I'm not a tuner, better save that question for them". I think I heard that one a couple times a day. I just want everyone to know that up until the time god decided it was time for him to come home, he was so happy. I know right now he is probably by his computer in the sky reading HT like he did everyday right now. Right now I have some pretty big shoes to fill. But I have learned so much from my dad. He was an amazing man and honestly loved the sport that we all share and I hope memories of him live on forever! I love you dad and I want to thank you for everything you have done for me, my family and the world that surrounds us. I promise to make you proud and keep up the good work as you expected from me.

Once again, there are no words to express how much thanks comes out of my heart for everything that has been done in his memory. I know you guys are making him so proud right now! Laskey Racing is alive and well, do not worry dad...this is all for you!

Sorry... I just heard... earl was a such a gentleman... talked with him a few times on email about some tech issues, what good memories of a nice, human being.

It is uplifting to see all our comments, to know that the world still recognizes a man of honor and integrity.

earl you will be missed... thanks for the memories... thanks for living a life worth modeling. Mike's comments above tell a lot about what kind of father, friend, and mentor you were to your natural family... and these pages tell of your relationship to your "adopted" family. May these pages honor you... thanks for the memories!
