There was a tax credit on ethanol that ran out, and was not extended, so the price of all ethanol will most likely be increasing. I'm in Idaho and get E98 by the 55 gallon drum. If anyone wants to check on shipping I may be able to help get some drums out to people.

Re: E85 or E98 By The Drum?
I will need to look but I do not mind sharing, last time we bought it was like mid of last summer so I don't think the price we paid will represent the current price very well.
I sent a letter to my representatives basically saying that without the tax credit there would be less or even no incentive to run e85 in all the flex fuel vehicles that have been sold in the US because of the lower mpg that comes with e85. The response I got was along the lines of e85 is good but they will not be supporting an extension because they felt that e85 production would push up the price of corn and corn feed for live stock and thus push up the price of foods we buy. My first reaction was, wouldn't a increase in gas prices do the same thing where we use e10 in all our pump gas right now? And the leftover byproduct of making e85 still has all the nutrients that the feed had, and it gets sold for a lower price than corn feed, and is fed to live stock in place of regular corn feed. So it appears that my representatives, and many others apparently, must have been fed just enough information about e85 to put them against it for dumb reasons, too bad. I will still use e98 in my car but I feel bad for the efforts and money that has been spent on flex fuel vehicles and technology. I guess there are some developments being made in what is called cellulosic based ethanol, made from things such as switch grass, but thats the extent of what I know about that. We only have one e85 pump around here, and I hope that the change in the tax credit doesn't get it pulled out from the station.

Since then I have found a pump about $45 minutes away from me. Recently I got it there for $2.89/gallon . So far it has tested 85% every time I went there. This last batch I bought a couple weeks ago.

Just get a few friends together and buy one of these.. Make 200+ gallons of E100 a week in your home for about $1 a gallon..

The people in power only want you to THINK there is no good reason to have ethanol.. Follow the money and you'll see why..

They use unprocessed sugar that you can either buy yourself or get from their supplier. Also so you poor old alcohol like beer and wine or whatever as well as certain food scraps. Its pretty neat how it works.

I see the Rockefellers are back to their old tricks that they used the middle of last century. They just needed to line the pockets of the useless politicians this time. Last time they had to use religion to ban alcohol.

Re: E85 or E98 By The Drum?
Hey I know this is an old thread but anyone close to us, Idaho Falls, we have a tanker bringing in e98 this Wednesday. If you are close enough that you want to come pick up some fuel we can make arrangements to get the fuel and hold it for you. PM me for details if you are interested in getting some e98. As far as shipping a barrel, I have no idea what it would cost or who to take it to so for this go round I don't think we will be shipping any barrels. Next time, if we have shipping worked out, we might be able to do that.

Probably a month or so ago I just bought 2 drums of racing grade e98... worked out to be about 5.50 a gallon shipped, not bad imo!
What I plan to run from here on out, just got retuned for it and the results were awesome. The transmission casing did not like it though.
