there is no other track within an hour drive in the KC area. Will wait to hear directly from track mgt before making any IFO schedule announcements.

I just talked to the track manager, very sad indeed. This news ruined my day, can't image what he and his family are going through right now.

i seen the facebook page of one of the polticians that passed this closeing...
it wasnt very nice what some pissed off people had too say on her page....
but i agree with everyone of them...
this is like taking candy away from a baby....were going too cry...
and this is also a way of making a living for alot of people in the aera...
im thinking of all ya guys in kc,,and im defentially raising my hand in anger....
when will people just leave the racer's alone?
so were a little loud..but we also boost the economy...the way this went down so sudden was complete backstabbing and the city should be ashamed for allowing it

Cliff, you should contact Craig at Mokan Dragway. It is in Joplin MO between Tulsa and KC and would be a good replacement.

Um cliff, did you fail your geography class? Heartland Raceway (TOPEKA, KS.) is only 60 miles away roughly. Now my math isnt the sharpest, but you drove 60mph, take 60 miles and divide it by 60mph, you get 1mpminute. Multiply it back by 60 since it is 60 miles away, that makes 1hr. Figured i give you the long divions of it lol. Now knowing what we do, which is drive fast, the likely hood of us driving 60mph is slim. so assume we drive 75 take 60/75 equals .8 which means it would actualy take roughly 50 minutes to get there from kansas city.

yeah its crazy on a number of local linclon and kc auto forums as well...not just the imports either...muscle car guys and bikers are pissed as well...
i posted that i spend a decent ammount of money every year too attend an event and im no the only out of towner that has.....iowa/neberask/min/sd/nd this is are only import/fwd big event we get...ifo kc

i agree...just going too make us look crazy..they allready dont understand us..this will make it worse...thats why i just posted that i spend money when i attend..and wish it wouldnt close...
hopefully a good spokesman can say the threats and riot is just because of the passion we have for this hobby/sport....cause thats the real reason its happening...were not violent or crazy we just have alot of passion.....

Only way you going to put pressure on the situation is by going to your news and making it spread to the public. im sure there are other politicians that would love to use this against the council members...

i agree with above...they are perty much railroaded sucks...they could of went about this so many better ways though..like a bit more time in passing it,meeting and such..it sounds like it was perty much backstabbing us all and the track owner
