Looking forward to using one of these this upcoming season. Currently using the s400 67 now. Had no issues yet. -3 an to 1/4 npt feed line. Able to build up to 45-50 psi of boost. It is a bit laggy.

You made 50psi on the S400 67mm? what did you trap speed?

From my discussions with resellers and experienced people, that turbo should handle 50 psi no problem.

Earlier posts in here made it sound like there were people thinking that was to high.

lol there was. Running "to much boost" whatever that means! lets buy a 1,500-2,200 turbo and not run too much boost..lol

My best trap speed is 152,
Although my bore is 82mm with only 9.0-1cr

From my exp, and I've heard other racers talk about this, the BW turbos don't tend to need as much boost as others to make similar power. So even if it lives at 50psi it may not be needed to fully optimize the turbo.

650 on the dyno at 29 psi.
Cranked it up to 45-50 a few times to collect logs during track tuning.I'd assume 800 plus.

With an engine that isn't optimal you will tend to need/make more for the same hp..
You can over spin the turbo "over boost" and actually make less power.

Yea the block is small for that turbo, but its already been assembled for the past 4 years, and sat. Learned a lot off this set up, so next one will have quite a few changes. But the turbo working great .as arod mentioned about the turbo making boost, due to his larger displacement, it'll make the power with less boost and out flowing the turbo. It is only rated for 900

I think he maybe talking about sf sfwd car. But he is full of **** if he thinks that. I am pretty sure it does not have that turbo on it now.

Ya that's what I'm talking about. But i dont follow the games enough to look up everyone's skirt once the car starts making fast passes. The first 8 second passes were made on a regular ole s372 so why the hell now would this turbo not be able to do that especially with the best of everything on the car, MoTeC and all?

Somebody can verify this easily that sees the car often.

Not sure what is on the the SF car... but all of the 4 main turbo manufacturers (Precision, Borg, Garrett & Comp) have SFWD cars in the 8's. Bart from DP Racing has a Borg 72 he ran 8.8 at MIR last weekend and Ricky Everly has dipped into the 8's with his Borg 72. If your goal is 8's with this turbo you have more than enough to get you there as long as you have the supportive parts to go along with it.

Matt, Coles car tested a BW72 class limit unit. Is that Unit used to make a 8.4-8.5 pass in MIR.... Only they would know, Just because they test a unit doesnt mean they have to stick with it. They may have went to a custom precision unit for all we know.

Thanks bro, i wasnt too worried about running the time, more or less why my car didnt go up in power after adding 7 psi of boost past 40psi!!! I know things may affect it like fuel, timimg, dyno, etc. Seems as the compressor is maxed out, i believe the turbo is only rated to 1050hp so that would explain why it was done.. On the track boost will be different also based on DA.
So far I like the BW72, it made good power without alot of boost, shall see it work in Vegas in 2 wks...

We went a best of 8.68@175.46 on the BW72mm in Cole's car @ 44-42psi, and have trapped 178mph with it on his car as well.

I also went 8.34@178.5mph with it on the Outlaw car earlier in the yr.

It's a good cost effective unit that works and is easily capable of getting you deep in the 8's.
