Few updates....

Mockup motor is in, I can now begin test fitting parts and fabricating the intercooler and piping as well as the exhaust/dump pipes. I am using an EG crossmember and steering rack along with the EKK2 mounts.

This is how the car sits right now... I am replacing the floor pan due to rust on the passenger side as well as the quarter panel. Once the body work is complete the cage can go in.

Moving in the right direction!

I'll be glued to this thread for updates!

Replacing the whole floor pan huh? That some serious undertaking there. Why not just patch it? How bad is the rust?

I just think it is best - structurally speaking. It looks as if there was a leak and all the water sat under the passenger seat. That is where the hole is located.

It is a lot of work... drilling out spot welds is no fun!

Floor replacement is just about complete... I have a little more welding to do as well as seam seal the whole thing. This is before and after

I actually thought about it... it was just too much of a pain to keep the pan in place while mocking up the bars. The back bars should be able to be welded by leaning the hoop forward.

Do you need anything off our EM-1 before we part it and scrap it?

I will have more promising pics here within the next few weeks.... I know no one likes looking at metal or body work shots lol.

I completed the metal work last week and will be working on finishing the body work up soon. After that its time for paint and the real updates can begin!

Also, the engine build will begin very soon! Stay tuned!

BACK FROM THE DEAD!

I totally forgot that I created this thread lol... sorry for the lack of updates. Between some personal things and the birth of our son in December my life has been rather hectic and this project was put on the back burner for a while.

Things are in full swing with it again though and I will be posting more progress pics soon enough... I am "hoping" to have it out here in a few months

This is kind of where the car is today... The body is just about ready for primer and block sanding. I have to mount the battery and fuel tank, fab crash bar and bumper skeleton, and then we can do the cage. I am hoping to have the suspension on this weekend and get the car back on the ground. After the cage is complete I will paint the car and start to re-assemble...
