best way to launch at the strip on reg street tires.
I'm going to Bradenton Motorsports drag strip in Bradenton,FL tomorrow morning. I'm kinda noob when it comes to drag racing still. I've been to the track a few times before but it was years ago with a different car. This will be my first time at the track with this car since I bought it. I'm looking for tips from the experienced members here on how I should go about launching the car tomorrow. I know it will be hard to get good 60ft times without at least some drag radials, but right now I cant afford them yet. I have a 97' integra ls, completely gutted, a/c and ps delete, built ls all motor with upgraded motor mounts, exedy clutch kit, falken ziex 205/50/15's, and I have 2 step launch mode installed into my ecu. The 2 step was programmed to work anywhere from 4,500 rpm on up I believe. Does anyone think I should use it on these street tires or will I not be able to get traction you think? Should I launch without the 2 step at a lower rpm? Once I get there and I get my first run in, I will try different things to see what works best, but I was looking for input because I know once the crowd starts to pour into the place it takes a while to get back on the track because you have to wait your turn of course and I may not get as many runs in as I would like so I want to give it my best shot while I'm there. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. I'll be at the track at 9am when they open.

Re: best way to launch at the strip on reg street tires.
I figured I post my results even though nobody responded. It wasnt a great day in terms of time slips but i had fun anyway. I was having a real hard time with traction. I was a little disappointed because I know this car should be in the 15 second range as she sits. I had a 01 civic do 16.5 bone stock and this car has about 50 more hp. Any comments? I know, I need some drag radials.
best time:
60' 2.506
330 6.912
1/8 10.510
MPH 67.91
1000 13.597
1/4 16.167
MPH 88.08

Practice! Is my words of advice. I have gotten my stock b18 CRX with street tires in the 2.2-2.1 60ft range, and I believe I can even improve that once I fix my alignment. Try to rev high and slip the clutch off the line. I pre-load and launch it around 5-5.5k, no 2-step.

Think of it less as a launch, and more as a slip. Try slipping your clutch all the way through first gear.
I used to do high 1.9's on kumho mx's slipping hard, not going full throttle until the very tip top of first gear. It's going to be different on every car.

20psi in the tires, nice 2nd gear burn out in the water, and practice is really all you can do.

Thanks for the tips! The two step was just way too much for the street tires I found out. I just spun the tires. So I tried dropping the clutch at a lower rpm, but I think I was giving it too much ggas too soon because I was getting wheel hop before I finally started to get some traction.

You can use your two step, just launch it light throttle.
I setup low rpm two steps for street cars all the time.
