Benson and ERL get my vote. Its nice to order something and ACTUALLY get what you ordered and have it work correctly.

I've got a Benson block that was sleeved in 1998. It's an open deck and the sleeves don't touch each other. 40+ psi ....... I kill this ****ing thing and it won't break

I think I'm going on 6 years with my GE HD sleeves. car started out as a mild 500whp daily driver but in the past 3years has been more of a track car with some street driving and driving to the track. I've rebuilt it 3 times, blew up the motor once and only thing salvageable was the bare shortblock n rods. my current motor has been together at over 800whp the past 3+years without an issue. I'm finally going to go through it this winter and freshen it up just for piece of mind. but the block has been stout and very reliable for me.
But like many have stated already, the key is "who" does the install. Not all machine shops can do it and do it right. I've seen many people try and cheap out buy purchasing sleeves and having local shops do the install. They only run into issues and in the end, end up paying more to have it done right.

Thanks for the responses. Ive heard that sleeving a block will make the ECT's go thru the roof. Currently my Non sleeved motor doesnt go over 190 degrees- Any overheating issues or anything?

There isn't a single company that sleeves for 1000.. GE price is very misleading. You still need final bore and hone and line hone if need be.. I've figured that after everything is all said and done, GE is only 150 cheaper than ERL.. ERL is 1500 and thats ready to be assembled..

GE here... Paid 950.
87 mm 87.5mm.. Now 89 after throwing a rod (Broken rod bolt after 3 years and 3 builds on them... LOL) through the front of my block (And welding the hole shut :O) ) Over 650WHP and beat to **** for all three years.
Block didnt need a line hone. Step has maintained perfect spec as well. No orings... Nothing

I used GE in my Honda and ERL in the both Scions. Never had a problem with either company.

Being your in Reno, send your block to Dan Benson, google bensonsmachine for his website or add a .com.
He is in Idaho now, so your relatively close.
You can PM me if you need any help...
