Beeyond Engineering New Personal Best
Well, it has been a long fought year for getting the shop car together, but it's paid off. 2010 has been more of a giving year of track assistance to all my friends/customers alike(all of them turned in their personal best). Gave 110% to all of them until finally now in 45degree weather..............it was my turn.
Been having boost issues for the past 3months, so decided to head back to the track to fine tune this bug thats been getting on my nerves. For the time being I have it 3/4 ways figured out before the track closed. So I'm glad it was a win win situation. 1 dilemma I had(still have) was getting my boost to stay steady at 38psi. One slight change on the %duty cycle and it drastically altered to 44+psi. Then with a slightly lower %duty cycle it would hold only 33psi. Nothing in between would work(confused...hehe...whatever). So we decided to keep it at 33psi. I was so frustrated thru this ordeal, that I guess overall it benefited in making me drive like a madman. And 33psi was only by looking at the gauge(on the dyno 33psi on gauge logged as only 31.5psi and yielded only 715whp).....I didn't bother to logg this time around since we were on so short of a notice/time limit of track too...so just looked at gauge on top end. By gauge at 33psi the car did ok......nothing fantastic.
Kind of drove the **** out of her into the night, Improving on every run.
10something@140something--was my shake down run...hehe!!!
9.9@150mph
9.8@152mph
9.7@153mph
Best 60ft: 1.63
Best 1/8mile: 119mph
I'm pretty sure I need dual gates by this experience and will have it resolved come 2011. Can't wait for 40+psi....if only it was still warm out I'd put another gate on asap and try for a few low-midish 9sec passes.......darn cold weather!!! Track closing in a few days already too, so we'll opt for next year.
pretty simple setup:
-B18C1 ERL MID(pauter/cp guts)
-B16 head(supertech guts)
-S372R
-In-house Medusa turbo manifold
-S300
-MSD
-25" slicks
-OEM tranny(couple nick/nacks to assist it)
Last year I went 155+mph@765whp@35-36psi....so definitely I was shy on boost and power....SUX!!!
Setting record is for ourselves(personal best)

Congrats once again!
I don't know much about building, and tuning but
If we had all the top notch expansive parts
Such as, nlr, vtec killer cams, motec dogbox etc other goodies... I honest can say my friend here can go whole lot faster.
I'm not being cocky at all or to stir **** up but I'm just saying it because I believe my friend can do it and will do it.

Re: Beeyond Engineering New Personal Best
we did get over 800+whp on the dyno at 38psi, but like I said earlier.....just can't get boost there for the time being.

Re: Beeyond Engineering New Personal Best
it isn't the best track for traction on a cold or warm day in the nation. the track guys do the best they can with what they got. it's definitely not a 5star track, but it works. that's why running any 9sec pass in a FWD is a big deal and my buddy above was VERY EXCITED..hehe!!! some have improved by a few tenths running at big time tracks like route66 juliet vs. gldw. i personally haven't raced outside of gldw...probably next year I'll travel a bit if we can get her down to low 9s. I'm confident of it with the right parts/equipments low 9s will come...i also know my guys/pit crew will be there 110%.

Re: Beeyond Engineering New Personal Best
we wanted warmer weather actually to improve 0-330ft at this particular track(U guys know that too). "making power is NOT our problem." It made 800+whp@36psi on a 80 degree day(shop temp was close to 90degrees). When it got colder out we compensate on our tune accordingly. Just couldn't get boost to hold 38-40psi. So again we opt for only 33psi(715whp). Did the best we can for what so little we had to end the year(FYI, the whole crew was praying to the honda-god before every run for the tranny to hold up--another problem we were having 3-4th gear kept blowing up). Hoping to get 3-4 cars into the low-mid 9's next year to compete out-of-state.
