Default battery mounted behind rear bumper nhra legal?

I was wondering if the setup like the one in this picture would be nhra legal without a kill switch? My crx already has a odyssey battery in the trunk with a crappy box and there is no room in the front to mount it. My car will basically be a weekend drag car hopefully in the 10s,11s so removing the bumper support wouldn't be a big deal and I'd rather not buy another nhra battery box, kill switch and wire it all up...

the rules say nothing about it being in the bumper, but if I was an inspector I would fail it based on safety logic. if you get rear ended or spun around and hit the rear its a hazard. I wouln't do it.

I am pretty sure that as long as you have a battery cut off you are fine. My battery is mounted in the front passanger side behind the bumper and the only thing they told me at the time was I needed to have a battery cutoff.

They never even ask where my battery is mounted they just test the battery cutoff when I go through inspection.

The battery location only matters if it's sealed or not and that is only for battery box and venting purposes. The location and you hitting the wall have nothing to do with each other. As the previous poster stated, theirs is located under their front bumper. The cut off switch however, is your problem. Plastic removable keys are not allowed. Has to be solid metal push pull or turn styles.

I believe once you are faster than 11.50 or a certain MPH, you are required to have a cut as well, no matter where the battery is actually mounted.
