Default AZ_CIVIC 10.2 @ 141

Hey guys, it has been about 5 months since my last time out and my personal best was a 10.51 @ 133.

Went out to the track last night and only one lane was open with about 250 plus cars so I was only able to get two passes in. Anyway since the last time I went out the only changes I have made to the car is all suspension. I am still running the t3/t61 which is maxed out at 25psi but still working pretty well, by the way I forgot the laptop so I couldn't check my logs while I was there.

I was trying a couple little things, kept the slick pressure at 9psi to see how my car did there and I think my 60fts were suffering. Boost by gear is around 12-13 in first which I think may be a little too much because I am spinning a lot, second gear is set at 17 psi so I think I may up it in second and 3rd and 4th are 24 psi.

The good news is I picked up 10mph since I was out last and almost 3 tenths of a second quicker with just changes to the suspension. The car feels so much better with all the suspension upgrades, no more sloppy, bouncy feel.

Congrats. Any idea on how much power 17psi is? How much does the car weigh with you in it?

I would say maybe 600 at 17psi and the car with me about 2,425. It's an FIS car so it has the complete interior and everything.

I would try lowering the tire pressure to 6.5-7.0. What are you launching at?

7,000, next time out I am going to run 6psi tire pressure and see if that helps the 60ft. I am trying different things right now to see what works best, I guess 9psi of tire pressure wasn't working so well LOL.

Less pressure in the slicks will require screws or bead locks

I have rim screws in, 12 on each side of the rim so no problems there.

Here is the list of what I did.

KS Rear Trailing arm Kit
MAAK Trans Brace Kit
Kingpin Compliance Set
Hard Race Spherical FLAC's
Changed the EK Subframe setup and swapped in the entire EG subframe and manual rack
Strange Engineering Full Coilover Kit/ 375 rear springs - 750 front springs

LOL I know, I know

Every time I go out I usually run 6psi but wanted to try 8 and 9 to see if it made any difference. First Pass at 9psi I ran a 1.77 60ft. After that pass because the slicks were warmed up it was reading 10psi so I dropped it down to 8psi and ran a 1.69 60ft.

So next time I am out I am going to try 7psi and than 6psi to see how better the 60fts get. Than from there I am going to start working on adjusting the Strange Engineering Coilovers until I can get it those 60's down to 1.59, that is my short term goal.

Nice pass, setup sounds nice. You have any pics, engine and trans setup?

I am no Hondata expert but I was looking at my logs and think I know why my
60's may suck. Looks like I am launching at about 13.1psi around 6500 and hit up to 16.9psi in first. I have to let it bounce on the limiter like 2-3 times just so when I shift into second it doesn't fall on its face.

Even when bouncing it on the limiter to try and hook when I shift into second it drops to about 5300RPMs.

I am pretty sure boost is set on the gate spring in first but the sping may be to big because I can't get the boost any lower than what it is doing. Again I am no expert and down right a rookie when looking at this stuff so I am going to go down to Locash and see if he can explain this to me LOL.

I wouldn't be worried about the boost... Lower your tire pressure and you should be golden if the track is even half decent.

I typically know I am going to build XX amount of boost and I am going to roll with XX amount of tire pressure and then adjust launch RPM for the track conditions of the day. That's just my experience....

Yeah I talked with Joe today and brought my datalogs by and he told me the same thing. He looked through my logs and made a bunch of adjustments and said I should be good for a 9.9 LOL.

So I am going to check the schedule for next week and see if they are open and try and head out. It's just a matter of playing with different things and hopefully get where I'd like to be.

Thanks man, even if I don't get that 9 as long as I cut down the time little by little is good enough for me.

When I was dialing in my old set up I lost 1-2 10ths everytime I went to the track. I was on some skinny 13x7.5 so I think some wider wheels up front would do my short track some good.

Are you still running Itr cams?
