*Video* CLM Motorsports Ricky Silva 8.87@173mph 24.5/72mmGTX/iREV

What a weekend for the CLM Motorsports Crew
Ricky got the car back together with the new ATP / Garrett GTX 72mm turbo Thursday night. Cunha and Ricky didn't get a chance to throw it on the dyno Friday due to obligations in completing a customer car, they pull an all nighter we leave 6am saturday to make the drive to Capitol Raceway for the FWD Shootout. First hit with no data rolling the beams, goes 9.4 @ 170 with a 1.7 60ft. New turbo looks real promising, next hit and first round of elims gets out of the groove, close to the wall has to pedal it and loses.
Sunday he came off the trailer with we know Jason always has the track on kill so we have a good feeling and Ricky ran his career best e/t and the second quickest pass on a 24.5 in tire ever and Super Street #1 Qualifier 8.870 @ 173.23mph. Also ran the fastest pass later in the day on another 8.87 @ 174.62mph. Thanks to Jason Miller and the rest of the MIR staff for always providing an amazing racing surface.

Wow what a weekend still a little in awe about it. I cant say enough good about the people helping us. So right before this race we swapped over to a Garrett GTX turbo that George over at ATP Turbo was nice enough to supply us with, with the help of our friend Paul over at Boost Factory. We didnt get any testing or dyno time with it and just went right to capital for the shootout race. Ran a 9.4 off the trailer in qualifying but lost first round to Blue Ridge motorsports. Car got out of shape bad and i had to get out of it.
Sunday morning we get to MIR and Cunha madea few changes off the limited data we got from the day before. First hit 8.870@173 qualified #1 we drew a good side of the ladder and got a few bye runs. Ended making another run in the semi finals and went a 8.87@174.6 which put us in the finals Vs Jake Gavio driving Marc P's 67mm turbo car. Some how i managed to red light and gave it away to Jake still ran another 8.87@174.6. Not the story book ending i hoped for but cant complain 3 solid 8 second passes is more then plenty for me.
Cant thank George at ATP and Paul at Boost Factory enough for this killer turbo this thing works and is bad ***. Cant wait to see what this bad boy does when we switch to e85 for the final 2 events. I have to thank a lot of people for helping us run the numbers we are and have such a consistent car without them this wouldnt be possible.

Do you think the new et and mph was all because of the new turbo or just a really good track. Did you change more stuff other then the turbo.

we went 9.03 at the same track in similar conditions. The turbo was the only change. The 7285 required you to hit it to hard for it to stay in boost and to leave. This turbo is slightly smaller turbine and is a lot more responsive. It also doesnt really drop off on the shifts like the 7285 did.
