What a crazy weekend for us, I don't even know where to start! So let me start by giving a huge apology to everyone for shutting down the track with my carnage and sorry to BOTI for that, with what happened it has made my mind up about this car.

The weekend started out so damn perfect with my 1st pass right off the trailer pulling the 8.66 @165mph pass out of my ***. Our next pass I upped the boost in 1st gear just a tad to get that .03 hundreds to snag the DSM gasoline record witch is 8.63. Came out of the hole strong and right at the top of 1st gear the POS decided it wanted to wheel hop, before I could lift the transfer case exploded. and destroyed my DSS driveshaft.

So the next day (saturday) we got a driveshaft and t-case from acouple of buddies of mine, not knowing the condition of the parts we had no choice, so we ran with them.

We busted tail and got the car put back together. 1st round of eliminations I got a bye run, so I just rolled it out so I wouldn't break the damn thing then I laid into it half way through 1st gear, car felt great all the way down till I went to shift to 4th gear, then all hell broke loose.
Because of what happened on this pass I am parking the car till I figure something out for this damn thing, My girlfriend, my mother, and my sister were all in tears from what happened. At 150+mph the t-case seized up completely ripping half of the transmission completely off, the t-case then flew under the car, smacked the drive shaft and bent it like a ****, then tumbled out and punched a huge hole through the gas tank and threw sparks everywhere, the impact was so severe it lifted the rear of the car a tad. The vibration it caused was so bad I couldn't see. I smelt the fuel coming out of the car, I shut all the switches down, pulled the chute and slammed on the breaks to get the car stopped.
Got out and fuel was poring everywhere out of the fuel tank. At this point I was panicking like a bitch. Not knowing if the damn thing was going to go up in flames or not.

Anyway, the recap of this carnage is half the trans is gone, the t-case is completely gone, the rear driveshaft piece is bent like you wouldn't believe, and the fuel tank looks like someone rear ended it. Complete destruction, in the end of all of this seeing my girl friend, my sister and my mother all in tears from the stress and fear of my life has me decided to park the car till further decisions.

Again I want to apologize to Frank with BOTI, Pacific raceways and all the racers for shutting down the track for 30 minutes towards the end of the night, I felt extremely bad about it, the car will not be back at the track this year, I'm done this season. I've had enough and so has my pocket book. We will be back next year with a completely different setup, and it won't be AWD anymore.

Its just good to see that you were not hurt Jake.. I know most of us would rather trade us drivers getting hurt than our cars. But cars can be fixed. They dont make spare parts for racers just yet.

And I wont tell anyone you rode on the trailer with the pink car.. Oops

Thanks guys for the kind words, it was pretty crazy when that happened, there was no warning at all, it was smooth as butter then all hell broke loose at about 1100feet.

And Tony, Bryan ran pro-import as well as Kenny. They went to the finals together, Kenny ran a 8.14 friday night and 8.2x in the finals. Bryan's cobalt was too much for the track in the finals and could not get the car to hook. Man that thing was making some major power!!

What a scary story Jake. I'm glad you're unhurt. And considering what happened, it's very wise to end the season early.

The 8.66 pass looks great.

I dont think 100-150lbs is going to make a difference of it towing or not. i was mobbing 80 on the way up there from Oregon. I also tow my boat which is heavier.

nah, my ek has full interior. i dont think my pilot could do a big trailer like that one and my ek. haha. that would be way too heavy. if the trip was short, it might be okay.
