i have an 99 ej6 coupe R-81 milano red unfortunately like a lot of peoples its faded however when rubbing it with a cloth and t-cut the red paint is coming of on to the cloth now my friends have said this is good as usually this means it can be restored , i'm planning to use a machine polisher and compound (any recomendations) and then should i put clear coat on it and if so what one ?

Pictures would REALLY help in this instance… It would also be VERY nice if you could find a shop or detailer with a paint gauge machine to know what you're working with here. Sometimes taking off red can be a bad thing, if you're clear coat is gone, you're taking layers of paint off with a compound/polish.

If you plan on doing a full detail to the car, I've been using Chemical Guys V-series of compounds and polishes, and they work phenomenally! I would say your best bet is to pick up the entire V-series:

Chemical Guys GAP_VKIT_04 - VLINE Polishing Sampler Kit (4 oz)

with a random orbital, these will give you GREAT results. After you complete this, for maximum protection, I would go with a layer of sealant and then a few layers of wax. Chemical Guys offers a sealant product called "JetSeal 109" that will get you a good 9+ months of protection. Use this, with a few layers of a wax of your choice, and you're golden!

Post some pictures. Milano red is notorious that. Fortunately it's really not that difficult to fix.

just some a cheap one not that great although i could just get a polish and mop head for an angle grinder which has different speed settings

Don't use a grinder.

You can get a HF rotary for like 40 bucks. Maybe another 100-200 in pads/products and you'll be good.

If the surface is rough, the clay it first.

A good polish should bring back the color.

I know Meguiars professional line can be found in auto parts stores. I never had an issue with their products. The glaze you need to apply and take off right behind the application or else it gets hard and some real elbow grease is needed.

Follow behind with a good wax that doesnt have Turtle in the name and it should be fine.

My milano red hatchback was like the same thing when i bought it. After one wax by hand the hood, roof and fenders came back to normal for until it rained hard. After that i waxed it good by hand a few times and it has been good for 3 weeks since.

My integras hood, roof and trunk are faded. I want to know if i can do anything to remove it because the rest of the body is good. Some of it comes of grey on a microfiber but i really don’t know what to do.
