Default Beware of SSAutochrome!!!

We bought (group buy) some stuff from SSAutochrome last month, T3/T4 Turbo, T70, manifold and more. The T70 is a ball bearing one and looks fine.

We ordered more stuff 4 weeks ago and paid immediatly through paypal. After one week SSAutochrome told us the package came back to them, there was something wrong with the address. They said they will resent the package asap.

Today the package finally arrived

Not only the T70 is from another manufacturer, it's damaged and crap!!!

The hole turbo looks like ****!

Some other parts we paid for are not in the box!

DON'T BUY FROM SSAUTOCHROME

They shave material off the ends of the turbine nut(s) for balancing. Same as adding weights on your wheels, except they are removing it.

That turbo looks fine to me.

You want to say that this is just for balancing?

The turbine wheel also looks like ****, i'll post pics.

Maybe you can also tell me how the 3" flange for the DP should fit the 2.5" DP?

Not to mention the parts for serveral hundred dollars that are missing.

Wow. Atleast know your **** and maybe do a little research before you start bashing a company. Even though they are on ebay and may not sell the best parts in some peoples opinions, there is no need to jump to conclusions.

that turbo looks perfectly fine . . . before bashing you might want to confront them on the missing parts, and tell them that they made a mistake. Give them the chance to make it right, and then proceed with the bashing.

I personally think the only way to tell a turbo is bad is to slap it on your car but your turbo looks EXCELLENT . . .

If you think it's junk and want to throw it away i'll be your trash can, so toss it my way

Sorry, i can't believe that this should be balanced:

This is the same turbo, where is this balanced?

This is the T70 that came first from SSAutochrome, it's from Master Power Turbo:

The first package arrived after one week and we ordered more stuff and a second T70. Why the hell is the second one from an other manufacturer? Do they sell whatever they want? This one is of a way lower quality:

The first one came as described with all gaskets, the second one not.

Did you know what they say about the DP and the flange that came with the DP? "It does not fit, you have to weld it."

The DP is also not the one pictured.

They got also 5 emails about the missing parts, they didn't lose a word about them in their replies.

We paid shipping with FedEx, they send it via USPS. I think this is the reason why it took 4 weeks and they never supply a tracking number.

Do you still think i should not bash SSAutochrome?

I'm sure this is not honed/polished/whatever for balancing, it is cracked. The surface is too bumpy.

I'll get you better pics tomorrow.

I'll never run this turbo on my B18C5 and never on my Dart block.

Does anyone have pics of other "balanced" turbos?

dude, I don't see anything wrong with that turbo. Its common to SHAVE or NOTCH the compressor for balancing. If you look at some other turbro the turbine side, you see they do the same thing. They never take any material off the blades only off the NON CRITICAL parts of the compressor or the turbine. Thats why you see that shave part off the compressor. Some compressor, they would notch the bottom of the exducer area for balancing. Like the guy said, you'll never know how it would work if you don't try it.

here is a pic of a balanced precision turbo.they take off material to balance it. How many more people need to tell you this before you say to yourself " Maybe i am wrong and wasnt aware of that"?? are you trying to enter the turbo compressor wheel in a show and shine contest or do you want it to perform properly??

Thanks for the pic, i have never seen a Garrett or KKK that was balanced this way.

Maybe i am wrong

But i still don't like the turbo. The exhaust wheel don't look good to me and if i spin the two turbos by hand, the Master Power Turbo spins about 3 times and the "Turbocharger" only 1 time. The Master Power turbo is also ready for a 4 bolt DP.

And please don't forget this thread is not only about the turbo and the missing piece on the compressor wheel.

how about you put a little 5w30 in housing/bearing and see how she goes from there...might just have sat to long on the shelf and lost oil...and the bolt shaved is for balance....and give them a call on your other parts...i have alsways gotten good product from them for the money i spend....
