Default My '79 Coupe

Well ladies & gents. I thought I was done with the projects but I just cant stay away. A few weeks ago I got a killer deal on a '79 Civic 1200 Coupe. I could not pass this one up. Since there was no way that I could ever get Pinky back on the streets (legally), and I have been looking for a 1st gen for a few years now. I just had to get it. No motor and trans. Good for me.

I will be swapping everything from the engine bay out of Pinky into the new project. Along with upgrading the brakes and getting rid of the 4x120 bolt pattern.

The paint and bodywork will be done by a friend of mine that has a shop right next door to mine. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jones...510502?fref=ts

He does amazing work. This one is going to take some time since I am going to go through it from the ground up.

It is going to be a show/race build. But best believe , I am going to drive it everyday also. Here are some pics.

And believe it or not. Before someone rattle canned this flat Black. Someone had painted it Pink. I think it was a sign.

Looks great!!!! Everybody is EFI swapping these old cars now. Hope you're giving props to the mastermind Justin! He opened the door up for all of us!

Do you already have the parts for the 4x100 conversion? If not i may have some extra sets laying around.

BTW.... ive been looking for a trunk from one of these.

I know these cars are all over the Pacific Northwest. Used to see them driving all over like no big deal when I used to visit my ex's family in Oregon. Down here you NEVER see these old Hondas. EVER.

Anyway, hit me up if you ever run across a spare trunk. One of my projects needs one.

I have everything for the 4x100 conversion from a 92+ Civic. EFI has never been my thing. I will let everyone else get after that. Dual carbs is era correct for this little car and I have been putting dual carbs on Hondas since the 80's. All I am waiting for right now is getting a dummy motor for mock up. Keeping it real simple basically. Looking for a set of Panasport wheels for it too.

Well considering I have no idea what or who "pinky" is, and you didn't say what swap you're putting in I could only assume that it was EFI. Your avatar looks like a pink EF sedan, so I assumed "pinky" had a wild D or B, EFI of course. I guess you assume everyone online knows you or knows of you to know exactly what you're talking about when you mention "pinky". My apologies for assuming! Not being a carb guy myself, I never even think of doing any swaps with carbs. As you know, most people are either 100% pro-carb, or pro-EFI. I happen to be from the latter camp (lmao).

If you want to be really period correct why not an EK or similar swap? Lol Jk.

Again, looks great. Good luck!

Lmk if you know where any other trunks are!!! Need a trunk lid.
