I didn't want to post pictures of the final result from the front end fabrication and repairs until I got it cleaned and waxed. Most paints you want to let cure for at least a month before you attempt to wax it. So, here's a shot of some of he products I used, and pictures of how the car currently looks. Other than being a little bit off misaligned, I don't think anyone will be able to tell the bezels are off a different car unless they actually look for it.

To be honest, I don't even remember. I think it was second, but I didn't want to look at it for too long. Such a pitiful thing. I guess that's what happens when you don't post pics on Craigslist. (Or maybe that's why you don't post pics on Craigslist).

Just a small update... replaced my front struts today. I was surprised how well those old torsion bars work. I knew the front was a little bit too gushy feeling, but after getting the old struts out, I realized they were completely shot. I was able to fully expand and contract them with just 2 fingers. It should have felt a lot worse than it did.

The other thing I noticed, the struts are the only thing that keep the front suspension physically aligned. There are just two small (14mm) nuts mounting them to the body of the car, and if the strut was to ever bend or break, the wheels would just split off in opposite directions. If that ever happened on the highway or something... (shutters)

I can't say I love the way they designed this, but on the other hand I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, which is good.

Edit: If anyone else does this replacement themselves, be careful how far you work the assembly around. I accidentally pulled my axle shaft out of the transmission.

Dayum, that ride looks rad. And frankly, you couldn't tell if it was made in 1984 or 2011 by its appearance (not looking at the plate, of course)

Really good work, mate.

Cruise control !

Tested and working great.

I still hate the fact I sit at 3900 rpms at 80 mph though.

Finally got around to replacing that annoying, leaky, master brake cylinder. My low brake fluid light was coming on about once every 3 or so weeks, and buying fluid to keep it filled was getting old. The proportioning valve on the other side of the engine bay had a small leak as well, so that also got replaced.

As of yet, I haven't detected a drop of leaked brake fluid, so hopefully its fixed and done.

the amount of time and hard work with devotion you put in making this ride amazing is appreciable, It looks very nice,

I have some suggestions acording to my opinion( In conclusion its your ride what you like is best for eyes)

Add a sober pair of wheel caps

I used to have an '86 Crx Si haha, it had a EFI D15A3 (one injector for two cylinders, what a joke) with a 5 speed transmission, cold air intake and cat-back exhaust. I got it for $55 so this chick could bail her boyfriend out of jail. Turns out it had a rebuilt motor, new front struts, perfectly mint condition transmission, and fairly new tires. Needed a fuel pump though, and the body was in absolute horrid condition. I ended up selling the thing for a chipped B18B1 ECU, AEM red anodized short-ram intake for an OBD1 GS-R, 5" Autometer tach w/black face and a shift light, and an HKS type-1 black turbo timer. I wanted to fix up the body and drop a fresh coat of paint onto it then get a new fuel pump and just use it as a daily driver. But as it turned out, i got offered that deal and just couldn't pass it up. My friend still has it just sitting in the weeds, i don't think he has even touched it since he bought it from me.

I've definitely given thought to shopping for a nice pair of rims, but this being a daily driver, these rims have so far deterred thieves and vandals for all the years I've been driving it. I'll have to think about it some more.

Man, that's too bad it sits. 1st gens make awesome daily drivers, not just because they have that famous honda reliability, but they're getting more and more rare these days. It's pretty amusing, I get these 2nd gen rex and EF civic guys pulling up to me once in a while and challenging me to a race. I always just shrug and tell them its my stock, gas-sipper. It's like no one who sees me on the road can believe that my car is actually slow.

They fit fine, just scroll up and see for yourself, I took several pictures of the front end.

EDIT: If you had any body damage, you will probably have to do like I did and bend or tap the metal with a hammer. Another trick you can do if the parts don't fit quite right is use spacers. The last thing you want on plastic body parts is stress when you fasten them down. They will crack quicker when they age.

Yes, I can see you did an awesome job. You have taken that CRX a long way!!! I never attempted any body work bit my 86 is going to require some, and I was going back and forth with plastic welding or aftermarket. Yours is definitely an inspiration to not dismiss aftermarket plastics. Thanks for sharing. Sweet car man!
