82 Civic Wagon sir
Hello! This is the first older car I have owned, so I expected some rust, and tears. I was actually surprised at its condition. I would like to get this thing as close to stock as I can, and eventually lower it. But, as I have found out, this has its own unique challenges. I have pictures below, and would like to hear what people think of it.
I would like to know what to do about a Weber carb, and where to go for equipment to start dropping it.
Thanks for stopping by :D.

Re: 82 Civic Wagon sir
Thank ya sir. How is the conversion? Pretty straight forward? I only ask, because there were a few threads and videos talking about how he needed to get some custom brackets and such. Is there anything I should be worried about that doesn't come in the kit?

Then, you will need to fabricate blockoff plates for the egr/vacuum system unless you just leave the **** hooked up. I wanted to clean up the bay, so I just fabbed plates out of 3/16in steel flatbar. Looks nice and works fine.
If any of this sounds confusing, I can post pics.

Very nice looking! Yours is clean! I'm jealous of you for still having the gas door and the "H" on your front grill! Reminds me of mine.. (same color, lol). Best of luck and make sure to keep us updated with pictures!

Well, I made the mistake of not taking pictures or video throughout the installation because I wanted to do a tutorial. Its mostly straightforward, but i ran into a few things along the way. First off, if you mount the carb the way the kit says, you end up with the throttle backwards and have to make a bunch of modifications in order for the throttle to work. I ended up flipping the carb around so the throttle is where it needs to be, but in order for that to work you have to do one of two things. You either have to trim the throttle stop on the rotating linkage or drill/tap a new hole for the brake booster vac line and plug the original one. The problem is that the throttle linkage hits on the hose barb that comes out of the adapter plate if you mount it opposite of the way the kit says. Trimming the stop worked fine for me because on my car I didn't have enough throttle cable movement to fully open the new weber. I ended up taking out the pedal stop completely which worked fine.

I'll definitely going to keep in touch. I ordered an OEM rebuilt carb a few weeks ago, and it should be here in a few days, if not tomorrow. I have a bunch of plans for this car, and will start doing them through the winter once I get my financing all situated (Perks of an expensive hobby lol.)

Thanks man! The rust spots are tiny, not to mention few and far between. Only 116k miles on it, and I am hoping for many many more! I'll keep this thread updated on any changes. Thanks for stopping by :D

If I had to guess, you'll probably find more little spots as you keep doing things - I recently found a little more behind the taillights when replacing bulbs (the rest of the body is basically rust free).
I just rolled over 176k this week so you're doing good at 116!
I'm also really curious as to what option the center piece in your backseat is - mine is just another seat! (also, I realized earlier that i'm the one who commented on your FB post as from the south! haha.)

Hahaha nice! The world really is small! As for the center console between the back seats....I couldn't tell you. I was wondering the same thing myself. It seems like an odd option considering my lack of a passenger mirror, a clock on the dash, and a wiper on my hatch! I just got a new carb, spark plugs, clutch, alternator, and oil/water pump. So....I turned it over, and the brackets connecting my starter to the bell housing snapped in half. So upom disconnecting the starter, I broke a nut loose, and ended up getting stitches!!! Been a good day lmao.
