Re: 71 Honda N600 FULL RESTORATION!!!
Nice restoration job and since you done a great job, I have a question. I have a 72 and I am having a hard time finding an oil drain plug. The plug is not a normal plug and I am not sure why its the way it is. It has a wire with a rod going through the plug. It kind of looks like an oil pressure sensor. I have had it garaged for some time and I am trying to get it going.
Have you seen this before and if so where can I get one?

Thanks!
Ya it the pic I can see its a oil temp sensor. I have a few extra engine cases with oil drain plugs if you need one I'm sure I could part ways with a oil plug.

Re: 71 Honda N600 FULL RESTORATION!!!
Got the car up and running this weekend!! here's a quick video
Still working on the brakes, master seals were no issue to get, however the brake booster clyer are a pain in the A$$ to get!! I'm surprised there not readily available like the masters are. However I was lucking and have a good working vacume booster, I took the old seals to a place here in Portland called Seal Source and was able to match up with the correctly sized replacement!! Once I get the brakes working I will be able to drive the car!!! Still have a few more plans so this build thread is far from over!!

That car is stunning, you've done an amazing job. I'm not a fan of slammed cars but I think this one would look very good with the fenders just covering a bit of the tire. Keep up the resto!

Wow Great Looking N600. I'm so jealous of your car right now.
I have been searching for a old Honda and stumbled across this website. I'm glad I did I have found some great information on vintage Honda's. My wife and I both have accords so I'm sure I will find some other valuable information.

Re: 71 Honda N600 FULL RESTORATION!!!
I was able to get the rear sway bar sorted out yesterday, I used a extra n600 front bar, blacksmith'd it a little straighter at the ends, used mic bits from the parts car to make the bushing brackets, I used some left over sway bar bushings from other bushing kits, I mounted the ends by drilled a hole in the front leaf spring bracket.
this is how its mounted to the body..
front bumper brackets were cut down, then used factory sway bar bushing brackets

Re: 71 Honda N600 FULL RESTORATION!!!
One last bug I had with the car was the charging light, today I got that handled. Going through the factory repair book under tune up stuff I was able to follow the inspections and determinan that the generator was the problem. one of the three white wires was shorted to ground. Replacing that parts is kinda a task of its own. I got stuck on taking the flywheel off, it needs a factory tool to get it off, I remembered meeting a guy at a mini car show that deals with alot of n600/z600s. I gave him a call and he rented me the tool!! I just installed a good used one I had off my extra engine and now my system is charging correctly!!
Here's the flywheel removal tool, looks simple but you will not easily find a bolt that size with a metric 1.5 thread

I love the design details that went into manufacturing this car. I keep looking at the hood, I like how it's the entire width of the front end and comes right to the edge of each fender, very cool.

Craigslist, ebay, searching the internet, there's still alot of these cars around!!
It was April 2011 until now! I credit the speed of the build to planning... I got a lot the parts I needed before disassembling for paint.

Re: 71 Honda N600 FULL RESTORATION!!!
Here's a few pics of the drive yesterday
The wife really enjoyed riding in the car, she's 32weeks with are first.
engine bay turned out way better than I ever thought I would get it!!
Multnomah falls is a really cool sight this time of year!! when I was a kid I lived 4 miles east of the falls
little car looks so funny in a parking lot of giants!!
At this point just looking to complete a few small details of the car, I need a rear latch lock, e-brake boot, stereo ****, new front carpet or matt at min, a hidden sound system that uses only a I-pod. I'll keep you all posted on the progress!!
