Re: 1983 Honda Accord LX restore/upgrade
What you are doing is fantastic. I just got my 1983 Accord Hatchback 5spd in uglier condition for $650 so I feel like I got ripped off.
However, my next step is similar to yours. I am going to rip out the engine and change ALL seals and gaskets. I won't do any rebuilding because the engine runs fine. It just leaks. However, I am going to wait until I can afford a good paint job since I just bought a whole bunch of new parts---and I mean NEW (not new to me). I can't do any paint and body work, but I can do the mechanical work just fine. I figured with the engine out that would be the best time to paint.
Did you buy a generic wiring kit and doing the soldering?
What are you doing about an electrical power upgrade? Are you going to get a more powerful alternator? If so, which one? I am assuming you will go with an upgraded ignition coil and things like that.
Are you going to go with HID lights?
Have you found a place for all new weatherstripping? I tried Scott's old rubber but it does not appear they have any like they do for my '79 Civic CVCC.

Awesome thread. I'm particularly interested since my car has the same EK1.
I'm thinking a Weber is in order along with a much needed freshening come this winter!
