Are you ever laughed at for installing security devices on a Honda?
Ever since I got my alpha wheel lock and steering wheel lock, I've been getting strange reactions from my friends who see me use them. Mostly they are like, "why do you think YOUR car will get stolen?" I usually don't feel like explaining to them how Em1s are commonly stolen, etc, etc. They all think only Porches and Lexuses gets stolen.
Does this **** anyone else off?

I had a removable steering wheel for awhile. Everyone would laugh at me whenever I came over and had my wheel in my hand. 2 months after removing the set up, my car was stolen out my driveway. Now they dont say anything.

I see old crap boxes with steering wheel locks every day. I'm not sure why anyone would bother.

The people that make that assumption are pretty naive. They must live sheltered lives.
ITRs dont make the list because there aren't that many ITRs out there. You have to think statistically. Even if every single one got stolen, they'd still barely make the list. Same goes for NSXs and S2000s. Not to mention that the people that own those cars usually don't park them in low income neighborhoods or park them outside over night.
I'd laugh too if I saw you put an alpha lock and a club on your car. And if you didn't mind, I'd show you how to get through them in a matter of a few minutes.
Junky cars always get broken into/stolen. That's because junky cars are the ones that need black market parts. Civics and Integras will get stolen regardless of the condition, because there is a huge market for the parts.

Yes, by one of my cousins.
He doesn't care if his car gets stolen, his mommy will buy him a new one.
My other cousin, and friend understand that civics are a common theft item so they make sure that they lock their door when they exit the car.
My dad has alarm, club, lo jack. Nobody ever laughs at him.

Okay, do it. Seriously, I've been wondering how easy/hard it is to steal my car with the stuff on it.
I have lug nut locks.
Alpha wheel lock.
And "The Wrap" steering wheel lock with motion sensor alarm (goes off when doors are opened without disarming it).

it would be a little bit of work for one person to do but if there were 3 or more it'd be easy as hell.
1. anybody could force a socket over your wheel lugs to get the wheel off
2. that wheel lock thing is easily bypassed by if the theif were to bring his own wheel. just simply jack the car up. take that wheel off with the lock on it and replace with new.
3. that steering wheel thing could be off in seconds with a pair of bolt cutters. simply cut the steering wheel up to get that thing off.

How? With a hammer? Good luck. I once lost my key and had to order a new one to get those locks off. I did try the hammer...just ruined my wheel a bit.

Haha. First thing I thought of. They're supposed to be good upto 150 ft/lbs of torque...so I guess it would get them off.
I still don't know how anyone would cut the steering wheel lock off though. And the more important thing is that the alarm is 120 dB. Maybe that would do something?
