Default Tape Deck Replacement

I was thinking about removing my tape deck in my 98 Civic 2Dr Dx. Now i have heard people swapping the whole climate control to 99+ but that is digital so i have eliminated that option. Next i was thinking of swapping my current head unit to the old tape deck slot, and installing a flip up screen where the default radio location is. Air vents will be blocked when its up, and it would have to be single din, so I don't want to do that either. I heard you can swap the climate control down to the tape deck din with a little modification. Thus giving me a double din slot for a flush screen. Can anyone tell me if moving the climate control is possible for one...and second does anyone know where pics are including DIY instructions for either moving the climate control and or installing a screen where the tape deck is. Every link i found the pictures have been removed or expired.

Default Re: Tape Deck Replacement

I do not see how moving the HVAC control will give you a DD opening

Why not just install the flip up in the console where the cass. is, I have done that a few times, then the stock HU can stay in place, no mods needed.

You would need a flip up with "adjustable" screen extension to get the proper angle. 94
