Shoud I run my sub RCAs from my four channel amp's sub pre-out, or headunit?
Both the amp and headunit are Alpine, and I wouldn't be sacrificing sub volume control if I plugged it into the amp (I have a manual volume adjust for the sub that runs to the dash).
Which will give me the best sound clarity?

Ideally directly from the hu, though that is assuming you have 3 sets of preouts

I have a 4-channel amp (Alpine MRV-F345) [http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...odel=MRV-F345] hooked up to my Alpine 9833 headunit (its crossovers are pretty much fully adjustable)
the sub is an RF 12" Punch P3 and the amp for the sub is an RF p3001 (please dont give me grief about those, I worked at best buy and that was the best they had at the time )

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by romoracing »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Connect it to the head unit. You have sub control using the headunit.</TD></TR></TABLE>Ditto that. a lot of sub control, if you use the output of the amp you will only have the x-over in the sub amp, the "manual Volume adjust" is not a volume control, it is a boost control, not the same as a volume control, you can still use it with the amp. 94

Re: (Znypar)
you got a very nice unit. You have a free service from alpine that will work with that hu. Its called i-Personalize. You can adjust what type of speakers you have. how many subs you have. then you can get into a more adv. setup like time delay, graphic eq and x-over settings. its cool and its free.

yea, im already familiar with that utility.
now if only they had default time delays for different makes of cars that you could just select. that would be a pretty neat feature
