im working on installing the type s sub in my gpas 01 bmw 330ci because he says it lacks bass but he doesnt want too much, and had this leftover from my bros car. does somebody have a diagram or something telling me which wires do what on the sub. theres four wires. do i need a little external amp or is one built in to this unit?

i'm confused, do you have a picture? if it's just the sub, then no it doesn't have any amp, if it's in some kind of enclosure, maybe it does.

its in an enclosure and sits in the spare tires, has 4 wires

i would think the wires are a speaker level input, but without a close up or product number it's hard to tell.

well i have the sub in my garage, what exactly do u want a close up of? the whole enclosure? just the wires? lmk. i have a product number for you too if thats a better way

Amp is in the enclosure
white=12v
black=ground
Lt Green=signal +
green/white=signal -

ok so the signal wire is just where i would tie in the + and - on the back deck?

to the rear speaker wire.

You do not want to get the signal from a rear speaker. You want to get the line level out. The factory amp is the left rear corner and is easier to get the wires there than at the deck.

do you know how to get to the stock amp? and what wires i would tap into? lol i dont know anything about bmws

Pull of the back of the tail light and remove 2 clips, super easy

head unit outputs. You will only be able to use one side since the sub is single input. I would try right front.

i just finished this, and i must say its a great sounding free upgrade haha. it has just enough bass now but not too much, when i turn up the bass the trunk rattles a little lol
