Icon3 Rolling up your windows using your alarm

a few questions actually.

On the viper 5900 unit, there is an orange (ground-when-armed) wire. Typically, the instructions that are included with optional sensors that you buy will tell you to use this wire, and the green one off of the supplied shock sensor, to run the new additional sensor your installing.

now what if you wanted to run a relay off of the orange (ground-when-armed) wire WHILE ALSO running another sensor?

for instance, a Viper 5900 w/ double guard stinger shock sensor and the DEI 507M(/T) tilt sensor wired up using the orange (GWA) to supply ground to the 507M(/T). Can i splice into the orange (GWA) wire and use that, on say, a fuel or starter kill relay aswell? or is that too much draw?

also, SuspendedHatch (if your reading this), i did my install about 3years ago on another hatch using your information. Worked out great. but i was stupid and didnt use a relay for the domelight supervision. It still functioned great- but the light was real weak until i opened the door and supplied it w/ a strong ground. albeit, i liked the fact that the 30 second passive arming count down didnt start until i opened the door after disarming... and not immediately after hitting the disarm button.
That vehicle was totaled and i reinstalled the alarm in another hatch.
but now... the domelight supervision wire is dead...
even with a relay, it gives off no ground. i even went into the features menu; disabled it then enabled it again. still nothing.
Is it possible that its fried inside the unit itself now? or is there just something im not seeing....?

and lastly,

comfort closure. something all of us 5900 users have available to us. I have a p/w conversion on my hatch and would love to take advantage of that feature. (closes windows after you arm the system.

1)the install guide doesnt explain which of the two lock output wires supplies the 200ma to roll up the windows. it just says the feature will supply the 200mA to the "lock output wire"
2)which wires in the p/w system is it to roll them both up? it confuses the hell out of me. theres too many that i cant decide with the meter exactly which one(s).
[all in an EG civic]

big thanks to all your work in the past, those of you who've done write ups and created web sites to aid the one car community with the biggest theft problem. ::thumbs up::

use the gwa to run a relay, let the relay send a better ground to the components. as far as the comfort closure its designed for cars that you can stick the key into the drivers door and turn and hold it to activate windows/sunroof from the factory. you need a dei 530t to run your windows also off of ground when armed and an extra channel to vent/roll them back down. hope this gets you started.

ok cool, so i can run as many things as i need off of the GWA wire and it wont be too much.
Im def gonna look into that 530t, and possibly do a write up to help others with equipped units take advantage of that feature. granted if its not too complicated.

thanks alot JSPECSIR

any input from anyone on the domelight supervision circuitry; or am i pretty much screwed??

He said use a relay.

I personally had trouble with using the orange wire on my 5900 to control a relay (start kill) that I had in the engine bay. First of all, it's no use with the remote start. Your car wont start unless you disable your setup with the status output wire. Too complicated to be worth it when you're trying to be stealth. And I found that my alarm would provide a very weak ground on the orange wire (enough to trigger my relay) all the time so it was useless to me.

I don't know whether you "fried" your alarm's dome circuit but with some testing it seems you could make a reasonable conclusion.

I was going to do a full write-up of a 5701 on a manual trans (97 GSR) with a 530T for the windows and a 529T for the sunroof; but once again I find myself flat on my *** broke and not only that but I did some polling on several forums and there is very little interest. I used to buy a used Honda/Acura, do some extensive security on it, sell it and make enough scratch to do it again. Now a combination of the economy and the Honda scene both going downhill... let's just say I lost too much money on the last two cars I sold (took me a year and a half to sell my EG). I'm done with it. I'm back in school for a second bachelors. It's coming along nicely and I'm done with the Honda scene that really has never paid off for me. Lots of positive comments from random anonymous people and I'm grateful for that, but also a slap in the face from many forum administrators ie team-integra, d-series.org, **********, turbod something etc. They can't conceive of someone doing this non-profit, or they can't stand it if they're not king of their little corner of the internet. Whatever.

Sorry for the essay and good luck with your issues. The people here are willing and very able to help you so no need to direct the questions to me directly.
