I need HELP! my cd player doesnt work!
Whats up guys,
Im new to this forum so i thought i would sign up and see whats here. first off, a few days ago i bought a 92 prelude, and o boy i love it. theres only 1 problem though: i guess the battery died on the guy who i bought it from and now the cd player is asking for its anti-theft code. i havnt heard any kind of music in my car since i bought it. i am planning on buying a new deck, but for now i want that cd player to work. Can someone help me out? ill give you a VIN # or whatever it is you may need to get my code. SOMEBODY HELP!
Thanks!

hey u might wanna disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect it...or you could disconnect the wiring harness from the cd player...ne thing that would reset the cd player, you could also push in the reset button....if this doesnt work the battery prolly burnt some internal parts...i know this because i install cd players all the time....if it doesnt work hit me back and ill ask my friend thats a install shop

I tried it, but nope. it didnt work. If you or anyone can get that code for me that would be great. I would go to a honda dealer but i heard they charge about $50. thats crazy for a stock cd player. someone help me please!....

You need to remove the radio from the car and call the dealer with the model & serial numbers off the radio. That is the only way to get the code. There is no way around it. If the dealer wants to charge for the code, then say no thank you and call another one. Repeat this process until you find one that will give you the code for free.
Oh, by the way... This information could have been easily found had you used the bright red "SEARCH" link at the top right of the page....

Um, since when is this the procedure? Isn't removing power from the deck what causes the "CODE" situation in the first place??? Do you know anything about how the security features work on a deck???

Yeah... That's good advice... It's asking for the code because something is burnt and the deck is malfunctioning... Riiiigggghhhhtttt.....

Re: code
For all of you who need radio code help. I called honda usa yesterday and if you have the radio serial#, vin # and registration, they will give you the code for free. All you have to do is call them, then fax them the info at the number they give you and then they will call you back with the code. The number is 1-800-999-1009.
