how to bypass clutch for remote start on an Integra?
I have a '94 Integra GS-R. I have just nearly finished installing my stereo, and will install my Compustar 2WSS-AS alarm system in the near future. I've never done an alarm install before, but am fairly confident. Anyway, wondering how I go about wiring it up to bypass the clutch with the remote start. I really don't want to f*ck anything up, but I'd like to make use of the remote start feature. Also, there is also a cheapo Viper alarm currently installed. Is it going to be more of a pain in the *** taking this out and putting the new in its place, or should I just pay the $250+ and have it installed (did I mention I have no money for about 3 months, lol). And I also have the remote window rollup and sunroof close, which automatically will shut the sunroof and windows when I arm the vehicle. Thanks for the help

not to be a dick bra, but if you cant figure out how to bypass the clutch, you shouldnt be going deeper into the bowels of your integra's wiring system.
ps: jump the clutch switch wires.

i guess. everything else is pretty easy to figure out, just splicing into wires, etc

i would junk the compustar and keep the viper,, i put the vipers in all day long and they are the best that i have worked with to date, but if you want to do a remote start (cough cough: get the viper) stay away from yellow and orange WIRE LOOM because they are for air bags and abs controls.
good luck with the clutch bypass, when i am training a new installer i NEVER tell them how to do it, they have to figure it out for themselves but it is easy. IF you know what your looking for
also solder and tape or heast shrink for a long lasting problem free install

Do not use a test light use a digital multimeter

On my NSX there's a neutral switch on the transmission (yes ... it's a manul!) that goes to the ECM - check to see if there's one on the Integra. Here's how I wired it up so that the clutch switch is only bypassed when the remote is enabled and the car is in neutral.

If you don't have a neutral switch, then you can either just directly ground the wire on the switch side of the relay coil, or for at least some level of safety, wire it up through your parking brake switch.

Re: how to bypass clutch for remote start on an Integra? (fcm)
well, i've only owned viper alarms in the past, but the 2WSS-AS from compustar is an incredible unit with massive range and I've heard nothing but good things about it. I contacted them a few months ago, and they even directed me to a certified installer in the area who would install the alarm WITH the remote start. I am just trying to avoid the $250+ install if possible, but we'll see
