Front speakers in car dont work at all.?
Car: 1994 Acura Integra LS
Headunit: Sony CDX-GT56HI
How did I find out: set fader all the way to front. No sound at all. Not even cracking or anything. Front speakers are the original OEM From1994.
More details... I bought this car 2 years ago, last owner had an older Sony head unit installed, and I'm talking about old and beat up. I was never able to mess with the settings because when I pressed the "menu" in the old head unit it would just turn off or volume go up/down. So I don't even know if the front speakers were working back then or if the problem started when I installed my new head unit.
My girlfriend bought me a brand new Sony head unit, when I pulled out the old head unit I noticed that the connections from the old one and the new one were identical so I didn't bother with the new cables so I installed my .new radio in a "plug and play" fashion.
So I don't know if I should buy new speakers (which I had planned on doing already) or if I should check the wiring.
Again I do not know if the front speakers have been working at all since I got the car. To be honest, i do not even know if my car has front speakers to begin with haha.
Thanks!

without pulling the doors apart u could just slide the radio out and test the wires to the front speakers with a 9volt batt. if there good when u touch the wires u should hear a pop sound.. but if it was me i would just go rid of the old stuff..

IF you couldn't tell if the front speakers were working before, I'd say it is pretty likely they weren't. You should definitely be able to tell the difference between just the rears and fronts and rears. See if there even ARE front speakers.

First, I would not trust the "old" harness, pull the HU and wire in the new harness/plug.
If the harness adapter was used, wire to it, color for color, if not, you will need to hardwire the new harness to the cars stock radio harness... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.asp
While the HU is out being rewired, test the front speaker leads with a 9V batt. as mentioned, you will/should hear a "pop" from the speakers.
Also as suggested, pull the speaker grills and see if you evan have front speakers. 94
