Desmond is good at what he does and although he might lack some of the customer service skills, he doesn't deserve to have a thread created to blow him up and bash on him. Even though he makes his living off of alarm installs and etc. he like to treat all customers as friends and not just a customer that he does business with.
I have seen Des do his work plenty of times and he is always busy. Maybe he could use a crash course in time management but my point is that he is constantly busy doing work.
I am not trying to kiss his *** or anything but I have gone to Des twice already and will continue to go to him for anything I need that's related to audio/alarms cuz he is really good at what he does and he treats your car like it was his own. You dont find too many people out there that do what he does so creating a thread and bashin on him is just wrong. If he stole your car or parts or took money and never pulled through on service, it is understandable (if after taking all the correct procedures in trying to rectify the situation)
This thread should have been locked and deleted for all I know b/c it is hurting the man's career and to provide for himself. The OP needs to understand this. I completely understand where the OP is coming from but creating a thread like this was wrong because it is painting an incorrect picture about Des to future customers.
Now, what we can say about him that is ACTUALLY true is that he has never killed a wrx or ever eaten an STI but we'll save that for another thread! haha!

I don't understand these people insisting he does good work.

That is easy to say if you don't know what good work looks like.

He does mediocre work. Some of his work that I have seen is just bad. In the other thread he openly admitted that when he preps alarms for people, that he twists and tapes the connections. No solder, no butt connectors.

What are you paying him for? You can easily do this yourself!

But I wouldn't recommend it. SOLDER IT! It's not hard.

Peace.

Des did my alarm on my car 2 years ago. Never had a problem with him or his install. I'd be happy to go back for anything else I need, and I will.

Word.

Ive watched installs over the years and we all have different thoughts and expectations.

I solder / heat shrink every connection at 12-15 hours per alarm it takes while but worth it, I see installs better the I do then also way worse just depends on the installer and what someone is paying.

I charge 500$ + per alarm but that's usually with tons of tricks Ive learned over the years.

Its personal preference, although I will say Ive seen enough positive and negative about this particular installer, but always gonna see criticism with anything.

Just go directly to Des since you're local. IMO, he is the best installer in California.

You will see why everyone that meets him in person has good things to say about him.

Do you really want me to post pictures of the black 2001 itr that you did? And have the owner come in here. The expensive issues he had and items that had to be replaced. You never touched any cars that I have done. Sorry to say. If there is a problem the customer would allwasy give me a call. And what customer that would let you pull the dash out of the car for you to see. I have all my customers information here. Have them post in here.

This thread has turned into a pissing contest..

Yes, starting a thread may get attention as the OP intended and since Desmond is now aware of it. He and the op should get in contact and settle this issue. Only the result needs to posted now.

i think, according to the OP, Desmond did make contact, and it would appear as though the OP stopped posting after he said the situation has been settled. it would also appear as though the OP never mentioned his work, just his customer service pertaining to the situation. this escelated out of control from there.

It's essentially because the Audio Forum has no active mod. It's become the dumping ground. This thread should have been locked after the first post IMO. There is a scammer forum if you believe someone is a scammer. I can understand the frustration but dont understand why someone doesn't do some checking before sending money to a stranger. It's as if they would like you to wipe there butts for them.

He's not, and I am speaking from personal experience with him. it sucks that the OP didn't have a 100% perfect experience, but by no means does that make Des a scammer.

I'll be using him to install my fog lights and probably my S2K cluster as soon as I make it down to SoCal later this year.
