Ampifier turn OFF thump

Ampifier turn OFF thump
i have a jvc head unit and i installed:
a kicker kq9 equalizer preamp
an alpine MRP M500 mono amp
a dual 2700 2/1 channel amp for front speakers
now i have the radio front R and L speaker outputs going into the high input of the preamp. i have the sub amp rca out from the head unit going into the rca low in of the preamp. then i have the high rca from pre amp to the 2 channel dual amp. i have the sub out rca from the pre amp going to the mono amp for the sub.
without the equalizer installed i had no issue with the turn off pop on either amp. with the equalizer i have pop on both sub and highs.
it pops when i turn the volume from 1 to 0, when i turn the ignition off, and also when the radio is playing if i disconnect the face.
things i have done:
1. checked grounds. both amps grounded separately with at least 3 feet between each and no more than 2 feet of ground cable.
2. it seemed to me that the dadio was turning off before the amp, so i made sure the amp was signaled from the radio and not the eq. so both amps and the eq are off the radio remote wire.
3. next i will check and see if the eq needs to be wired up to constant instea of ignition.... it seems if the radio was left on longer with a capacitor till the eq turned off it would solve this.
just dont want to spend countless hours fiddling. also...someone here probably knows.
p.s. there is no turn ON thump

Re: Ampifier turn OFF thump
update:
on lunch break i checked again to see how i had the eq wired. it WAS wired to 12v constant. i tried the 12v accessory and that caused there to be a turn on AND off thump. maybe i should just ditch this freaking eq

Re: Ampifier turn OFF thump
Check your grounds and RCAs. I know I might get flamed for this, but my system will whine and thump when my ground gets rough or the positive battery terminal gets corroded.

Re: Ampifier turn OFF thump
oh, it was DEFINITELY the EQ that caused it.
solved the problem by removing the RCA from sub output on head unit to RCA input on eq.
apparently if i used the speaker output from the head unit to the speaker input on the equalizer i didnt need the rca sub input at all. so it splits the signal to the subs and the highs as needed from the eq.
accidentally discovered this as i was too lazy to plug in the RCAs during a few tests...
thanks guys...
