Default Amber Backlit head-unit choices

So I guess this would be audio related enough.
I am looking to replace the stock head unit in my 2002 SI with orange/amber back lighting with something that also has the same Amber back lighting.
Call me strange but I don't really like flashy stuff in the inside or outside of my car. I would rather just keep my oem unit but I am installing a RSX bose set up and need to put a bit more power to the speakers and sub, this would be easier with an aftermarket unit. I am just looking for something that has a CD player and aux input, ipod/iphone Hook ups would be a great bonus.
I really am not up to date with current head units or options, I have been through best buy and crutchfield and found so far only one option that has what I am looking for.
The Unit I found was the Alpine CDE-103BT, it has Iphone/Ipod hook ups and usb along with blue tooth. (<any body have this unit?)
I am mostly posting to get others opinions of head-units you guys have and what you think of them, After all the amber back ground thing will prob be something I can find out easier from owners rather then searching for pics ect.

Thanks ahead of time for any info you can supply. I searched but did not find much...

As you've found out, we're in the minority as far as taste, as the rest of the market wants bright blue LEDs, chrome plated plastic and busy displays.

The mid-90's stuff was the best looking, IMHO. Understated and professional looking. And selectable illumination color was the norm.

Thats sure how it seems, I might put a little more effort into trying to make my stock unit work. Ill search around some of the older options as well.

You might want to take a look on bimmerforums.com I used to frequent that site and remember quite a few threads about color matching head units to their cars (90s BMWs had amber interior lights.) It has been a few years but I'm sure they're still doing it.

I Have an Alpine 9835, older unit does mp3/wma No audio/usb/ipod jack but I just run an Audio cable to the amp and plug my phone or ipod into that... granted it doesnt charge, but it works.

you can change the color on this unit to whatever you want.. the 4 buttons are a preset color red/orange/yellow/green/blue/pink/purple/ but you can change the backlight/other buttons to whatever RGB pattern you want. so i just did the buttons yellow and the backlight amber to mesh with the ITR amber

Thanks for that bimmerforums suggestion, I googled and found a bunch of guys that where color matching there amber bmw lighting to certain head units, my buddy also found a lot of options he sent to me as well. Right now Im looking at an Alpine CDA-9847 and an Alpine CDA-9813 on ebay, Ill see how the auctions end up, I am also getting a silver dash install kit to try and keep the look as oem as possible. I will deff post some install pics along with the head unit info if it matches well just in case somebody else wants to try and appear stock.
Thanks for all the info guys
