Default 2000 civic alarm/remote start install

For the keyless entry module, do I remove it or just attach the wires to it for the door locks?

Just tap into the lock/unlock wires. They're neg trigger so there's no need for any additional wiring.

oh ya where did they place the keyless entry module? I know on older models like 98 it is in the stereo. I believe they moved it to a kick panel but not sure. I would like to know before I start taking my buddys car apart.

You don't need to acess the actual module.

However, if doing an alarm/start, you can tap the locks & door triggers behind the radio at the security plug.

Otherwise, they're in the driver kick.

they're all in a green plug either behind the radio or above the fusepanel or somewhere in the underdash. u doin stick remote start? you'll have to use a relay to bypass the clutch.

Also, as far as I know, Honda has not changed their "Clutch Interlock Switch" and no relay is needed to "bypass" it, the remote starts "status" output, [ground out when running] is all that is needed, [connected to the "CIS" output to the starter relay] 94

Whats the difference of accessing it behind the radio or in the kick panel? Ya its in the drivers kick panel for the keyless entry module in 1999 thru 2000 models. For 1996-1998 its in the radio. Thanks for your help.

green plug goes into radio on civics from 96-98 which is gay. and when u remove the radio ur domelight won't work unless u jump the door trigger wire. green plug is ur best friend tho. all ur other wires will be on the ignition harness.

No difference really. But when you hide the alarm brain above the radio, you won't need to extend wires down to the kick. Allows for a better installation.

A lot of your connections can be made at the OEM alarm plug, [door locks, trunk/hatch pin, door pin(s), ground, head lights and horn (if you want them) dome light supervision, (if you want it) same as door trigger] 94
