yup, just get a bigger fuse and it should be alright. the manual for my amp gives a recommended fuse size, you should check yours out.

what gauge wire are you running? i know for a fact, that amp isnt weak. u should have between 4-8 guage wire for that setup. if u get a bigger fuse you should upgrade the wiring too.

a cap or a battery wont increase the capacity of the fuse. replace it with a 100A and see what happens

Re: *searched* keep blowing + fuse from batt to amp (dima)
the fuse under the hood should be the same amperage as the fuses in the amp added together or better. also, check your wiring. you could have your subs wired at the wrong ohm load and it keeps making the amp clip out or blow fuses.

Re: *searched* keep blowing + fuse from batt to amp (dima)
By the way today i was by my friends house and we were chillin in a car and a good part in a song came up and i turned up 1 notch and all of the sudden the subs shut off i checked the inline fuse and it was ok then i checked the amp fuses they were ok.... I the proceded to touch the ground to the "+" and didnt get a spark..... This happend to me before i upgraded my subs and i went to 4awg from 8awg and i thought that that was the problem. My ground is connected just like it was before so there still is contact for the ground and the fuse is still intact. I replaced it just to be sure.... WTF is wrong?

Read this...you might learn somethign about proper fusing (take note of the distribution block fusing)
but hey, you've been an installer for 30 years so you must know that already
dont hate me because i'm a dick...hate me because i'm right and you're wrong

Ok I looked it over, the main thing I see is 150A or less is ok for 4ga and if wire is longer then 15 ft you MAY want to limit it to a 125A fuse, also a short on a power wire will blow a fuse almost INSTANTLY Thank you, good site 94

well...from looking at that page i can see an error right from the start.
table 1 states that for 1400W @ 4feet you should use 4awg.
now looking at table 2, 1400W = 188amps.
on table 3, 4awg is only rated for 150amps?
i dont know...they're basically telling you to exceed the capacity of the wire. those tables dont add up. care to explain that one to me?
its the same for 1000W @ both 4ft & 8ft

yeah a direct short will blow the fuse instantly. but in the example i gave you, the current flowing wasnt enough to blow the main fuse but did exceed the current rating of the smaller wire after the distrubution block.

dont buy a circuit breaker. use the right size wires with the right size fusing and you'll have no worries. circuit breakers are **** for car audio.

Re: *searched* keep blowing + fuse from batt to amp (EBP_SI)
HEY GUYS!!!!! THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR REPLIES! I already fixed the problem and just reading the thread<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Benjithx »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">make sure you have a really good ground </TD></TR></TABLE> was exactly correct my ground wasent a sufficiant source ........it was a somewhat small bolt which worked fine for my old *** setup of 600watts. I just put it to the bolt on the rear seat like where the seatbelt clips are and it works AMAZING, i blasted the **** out of it and still pounds just that my lights completley turn of LMAO!
Once again HT Saves me! Now if you guys can please contribute your knowledge(sp?) on this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1018585 Pretty much i get 14/18mpg street/hwy and all i gotta say is WHHHHHATTTTAAAA F*CK!
