Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
Picked up myself a little project EK3 civic last month and had her stripped down to the bare shell.. rusted on the back and other than that seems straight enough. Shell is originally horrible-f*ck green to start with and had been painted some shade of yellow but nonetheless said I was going having it all painted properly in Phoenix Y56 yellow, dings, scratches and all that taken out.
Engine isn't much, but running at the moment a d14a8 with what seems to be a d16z6 intake mani, p2y ecu,.. peppy enough for a 1.4! very suprised and sounds nice when opened up. Wont be keeping this tho, will be going b16b/b18c route after christmas.
Heres the ugly b*tch when I brought her back home, dog ugly looking but had ***** of potential if u could look past its rankness.
Looks straight enough there bar the rear 1/4... The lad painting it said he'll throw new 1/4 panels on the back as it was fair rusty.. *All good so far
Meanwhile picked up 50/50 rear lights, cleaned the front ones and installed 6k HIDs and got a new front bumper, type R grill and type R lip splitter for the front as there was already one on the back. *Stock exhaust got for now as Ill be replacing everything underneath when the B16b/b18c gets got for her some stage next year.
put on new rear lights.. so much fresher
OLD:
NEW:
Front fell off. well not literally but starting riping the front off. Picked up a new battery aswel while I was at it.. and had the
alternator changed. Not doing anything major to this engine as it wont spend long in there..
Trial fitted new front, lip and grill then, small bit of propper lining up to sit inch perfect but its only trial fitment
Got some new wheels to replace the old.. the Rota torques had a buckle/crack in one of em, small bend in the other.. cheaper to buy
new wheels and tyres so yeah, bought some Rays engineering TE37 copies in white and these came from MCG Auto-Styling last week.. prosport adj coilovers.. Should sit nice and low at 75/70mm all around.. I'll have to play around.
Also picked up a few small bits as they all count.. *x2 Red honda badges for front and rear, rear canbus led plate bulbs and new plate bulb covers.

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
Taxed it last week, must book it for an car test.. in the meantime I must get myself a new washer bottle..small leak..
Also waiting on some new seats to arrive hopefuly be here tomorow..
MEANWHILE.. good and bad news in the same day.. Guy painting it rang me said he got the 1/4 panel and started to go at car.. grand I said, then a bit of bad news, he said wheel well is rotten, needs a new one welding in as theres f*$% all there to weld the new 1/4 to... felt sick.. I knew it had some rust and was willing to take the project on, was tempted to throw the towel in and say f*ck it... but I'd gone this far wasn't letting any rust put me off and the guy doing it is very good at what he does and willing to build it.. so went for it..
He sent me a pic of the arch once 1/4 panel removed... scary sh*t what lies behind some EKs :vtec:*
Gonna be an epic build and free from rust when built.. *MONEY PIT!!!

Picked up these forgot to add a pic. What's the best tyre combo to go for? Rays TE37 copies, I'm sure there 15x7.5j not sure.. *195/50 r15 if im going low ?
Going getting these made up to oem spec if I can;
Some blox purple nuts to go with em later on at some stage.
Also these arrived.. Rare enough limited edition Jordan black and yellow leather seats. Sweet looking, will sit nicely and look nice with the fresh paint. So clean makes me want a new carpet for the inside, mats...
Plus side I have the full interior coming in a few weeks.. Back seats, doorcards, gator, arm rest in yellow.
and installed these not to long ago:
HIDs installed aswell.. These ones.. 6k

Painted, almost there now..
Eagled eye'd people notice the rear wiper is now removed *
Though can't help but wonder would the black headlights be nicer again on it? Can I DIY the headlights black on the inside or is it juat as easy to get em replaced? Eitherway, *a happy day even though my pockets are now empty :lol!:

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
Was going to put them on as I can't afford to splash out on genuine TE37s at the moment, money is spoke for for other parts at the minute and I think they set it off well than having em plain? Suppose the hardcore die hard wheel nuts will know the difference.. lug nut pattern not the same but I think it's not causing any harm not to, they are fairly identical ??
Meantime just waiting on rest of the ltd edition jordan interior to come.. back seats, door cards, yellow arm rest and gear gator surround.. x4 toyo proxie T1Rs got..
A friend also told me of a hi comp k24 engine, k pro and a pile more.. This part of the build could end up with any engine in it at this stage.. nicely tuned b16a, b16b, b18c, k series if money allows.. Gonna take my time with this and do it right first time.

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
They can be got alright but not going to bother with them, it's not a jordan replica, just phoenix/jordan yellow color with a matching yellow/black leather interior that happens to be only made for the jordan.
Should have more updates and plenty of pics on the 12th.. Yet to shultz all the arches now, rust proof the underneith, waiting on skunk2 LCAs, beaks tie bar and camber adjusters to arrive. Things should start to pick up then with the build

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
Thought I replied to this yesterday but.
Went to get car this evening, battery wasnt charging and alternator was changed aswell as battery being brand new. Think a loose belt, lot of play so it could be slipping.. not a blown fuse anyway and cant see it being a broken wire.
Also found out I need to get new rear lower control arms, ball joint on front passo side as the bolt on it is just turning not coming off or tightening, bushes in front wishbones where the shocks bolt on, wiper linkage... all money
Will be going for Skunk2 LCAs and suppose while im at it put on a beaks tie bar, new bushings in the back and front, or would it work out cheaper getting a master polybush set and gettin someone to fit it all at once?
Can't wait till the b series engine goes in middle of January
no pic updates yet though, hopefuly a load within the next few days.
nearly call for donations at this stage LOL

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
Got the car back a couple days ago but weathers been very bad and windy couldn't get out to do
anything. Installed front / rear Red honda badges and fitted 2 of the alloys. (other 2 need to
pick up tyres after xmas). Also adjusted the suspension all around..
Badge put on
Went about putting wheels on.. could do with some rays center caps, extended blox nuts to finish..
Need to mess around with suspension a bit.. drop the rear to the last and keep front as it is maybe.
Then moved onto putting interior in.. some of it only temp as I should have the rest of the jordan interior coming sometime in Jan.
Sorry about pic quality.. camara phone.. Will take some good ones from now on with the good camara seein as things starting to take shape nicely.
NEXT on list is another 2 tyres for the other 2 wheels, Skunk2 LCA, Civic Type R ARB (think there 22mm?), beaks tie bar, new balljoint, master bushings kit, find a horn somewhere and install that, boot gas struts as the ones on it just seem to have gone??

pm sent.
Long shot but anyone know where I could get a set of rays center caps for the wheels? Look gawky with no caps.

Thread is confusing. Jordan in title but doesn't want to put Jordan decals because not legit Jordan. But puts RAYS decals on replica wheels? Yes die hard fans will know the difference between the reps and the real deal and laugh at you for putting those decals.
Other then that the car looks 100x better

Re: Y56 Jordan yellow EK civic build.
I'll edit thread title as it didn't get painted y56 sunlight Jordan yellow. It got painted y56 phoenix yellow that came on the EK9 type Rs.
Jesus, I don't know whats wrong with putting on volk center caps? Decided to not go with the decals on the wheels eitherway but nothing wrong with decent centre caps..
Thanks for the link scott.
