Looks great, I really like how you "fixed" the exhaust tip. I was thinking about getting that exhaust too, but the tip was killing it for me. Great idea!

Thanks! Love the color you picked for your car too! That is going to look awesome.
I can't wait to bring my car out to Cars and Coffee when it's running again. People who didn't even like hondas really seemed to appreciate the work I put in even with just the LS swap. I didn't have any issues with the ECU and it shipped quickly. I think my wiring of the rywire harness is what caused my ECU issues, not the ECU itself. The chipped ecu worked perfectly and it's honestly just sitting there with no use for me now because it's for a B18B.
Thanks! Getting close!
Thanks. I really like how the muffler turned out. I had that stainless pipe just laying around from an old test pipe and it just looked right when I held it up to the muffler.
I've got a 1990 EF with an LS/Vtech swap. One of these days I'll get my crap together and post up a 'build' log of sorts. When its working and everything falls into place I bring it out to Cars & Coffee, but not much else.
Off topic: On Phearable, was your experience good with them?

The longblock showed up today from HMotors. Engine is pretty clean, just have to replace all of the hardware since most of it is rusted. I can't wait to tear in to this thing and get it looking as good as new. I'll keep this thread updated as I go along.

Ran into SHG_Claudio yesterday, and he was telling me about your build. I had to come check it out. Man, I'm glad to see you still have your hatch. The build is looking awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product! Good luck the rest of the way! I'll be checking in to see the updates!

I painted the longblock this weekend and got most of the intake manifold stuff buttoned up. I'm at a stand still for now waiting on funds to order more OEM parts to freshen everything up and hopefully keep from having any leaks.

Thanks. I'm itching to drop it in there, but trying to be patient!
I've had the ole girl 12 years now. Thanks man! Hopefully just a few more weeks and it'll be ready to roll.

I used the Duplicolor engine enamel "cast aluminum" color. I know Eastwood makes a kit to reproduce the blue/gray zinc color that I've always wanted to try also.
Better SLR pictures from this weekend. Got the brakes bled, bumper on for the final time, cleaned up all the suspension that was super dusty from sitting, exhaust goes to the metal fab guy to get the hangers shortened and the new tip welded on this week and the new engine should be here by the end of the month. Ended up ordering a B16B CTR longblock from H-Motors. Steve is the man and everything you hear about his awesome customer service is 100% accurate. He took great care of me and I can't wait to see how clean this engine is.

Getting antsy now and trying to go over everything I need to get done before the engine gets here. Having an issue with one thing. I've replaced my rear caliper, slide pins, dust boots and pads on the drivers side and it will not make contact with the rotor no matter what I do, even with the ebrake. I have a feeling it's the Craigslist 4040 valve which really bums me out, because I just perfectly bled the brakes. Yeah, have some bolts and washers holding mine on.

Slowly plugging away and still waiting on funds and parts to come in. I shaved all of the unnecessary brackets off of the IM support brace and smoothed everything out and re-painted it. Looks pretty good I thought.
Here is a before picture. It's from an odd angle, but you can see all of the random brackets hanging off of it.

It makes me really sad to see how slow Honda-Tech is now.... This was the place to be 10 years ago and all the tech articles, how tos, and crazy detailed build threads are all going to disappear eventually. I like the accessibility of Instagram and Facebook, but the real information and helpful data and pictures are here.
My engine is all detailed up and ready to go in the car now. Still waiting on the stupid intake manifold gasket, but I'm just going to drop it in and do that later.

Great progress, btw.

I hear you on the ht thing. Its changed somewhat. Years ago i was a socal civic member and then everything just grenaded. Whats weird is most members were hesitant to jump over to ht saying that it was populated by dicks and a cold place. I have found that it is not true and that this place has genuine salt of the earth kind of people on it and some badass enthusiasts as well. I miss socalcivic at times but it was just a lilly pad that led me here. Only thing i see that has changed on ht for the most part is the activity. Back then this place was like a free brothel lol. Everyone was up here checking it out. Now it seems like people sign up and maybe they come back maybe they dont. Dont get down dude. Your build is a bright spot on this site. Keep on keepin on.

Re: WhiteSlipsWithStickers Refresh Build 2013
I started out on JDMCivic.com because I was honestly scared of this place and getting yelled at in all caps for being a noob with an 8 valve single cam and Rotas. I was 15 when I signed up there and had just picked up my first Civic. After I had my B16A swap done and felt like I had a little more knowledge I signed up over here. I figured out pretty quick who the "hype look at me credit card baller" guys were and I just chose to ignore those people and secretly hope to have a car like theirs someday. This site has been nothing but helpful to me over the years and answered tons of questions and remedied tons of car problems I was trying to diagnose. I hope people continue to come here and post and keep the site profitable to where it's worth keeping going. All my local car forums are completely gone and it's hard to network with local people and sell parts to good people now.
