Re: weirtech's project RWD CRX
Just wire-nut the important wires, wire-tie the rear suspension, and get some 4th gear untuned rippers ASAP.
Looks good so far, great to see progress. BTW any idea what weight distribution might be?

Not to be confused with "THE MAN"

Just went through your whole build so far and must say like all of the other things I have seen you produce this is amazing. Great work.

Re: weirtech's project RWD CRX
on the factory rad, the bottom mounts are on the front cross member. i previously had a traction bar that i had made holding the half rad in place with the b series that was in the car. i am going to build a new traction bar and it will hold the new s2k rad. the cross piece that joins the frame rails together i cut out years ago so i could pull the engine out the front of the car. there is a bolt in piece that goes there (you can see in the second and the last pics where it bolts up on the driver's side). that holds the intercooler. the bumper will still have the full rebar in it.

ok thats exactly what i wanna do for my integra to make it easy to replace the engine or rad support if it gets hit
question is the frontend better or is there more play, movement or vibration

Re: weirtech's project RWD CRX
Two problems that I see
1) The rear suspension spring mount bar is being put into a bending load. The force coming off the springs needs to be triangulated and dissipated else where and not just the bar. Aluminum is well known for fatigue crackings due to cycle loadings, so I would keep an eye and that rear bar if I were you.
2) The engine sub-frame doesn't seem adequate for that size load put on it from engine and tranny. The twisting torque from the engine is another thing that will put more stress on that piece. Again Aluminum has low cycle loads. More mounting points would be nice here!

the front, well i may replace that eventually too. after having done it, i'd like to build it as a complete subframe cradle that incorporates the front cross member into it.
when i had built both items originally, i did so before i had a bender.

Even though I have not posted in your thread...I've been following it over the past year and half and I am truly amazed by your level of fab skills and ingenuity. I am truly sorry to hear about your shop being broken into. As a shop owner myself it's a big fear and I hope those F'n thieves rot in hell!
I look forward to keeping up with your build, because this is going to be one very sick car once it's done!
