smithenhiven's 1983 Civic 1500S build thread.
This is deja vu kinda, seeing as how ian1006 just started his build thread on his 83 S.
Well here's my 1983 Civic 1500s (CVCC). Picked her up a few months ago, just been enjoying her as is, as a dailey driver, but now I got the itch to fix her up a bit.
Here's what the interior looked like when I first got it:
Those cheesy floor mats had to go, and I wasn't feeling the stock steering wheel, so I replaced it with this Nardi wheel:
Seats are neat, I love the color combo, but they need reupholstered, I'll get to that eventually:
The car looks decent from 20 feet, but as you get closer, you see it's cancer, and there's lots of it:
Rockers:
Inner door jamb:
So first things first, fix the cancer. I'll be cutting it all out, and welding in replacement parts (not "new", but from a good parts car, as Honda doesn't supply parts for this car anymore)
I've got fenders, a rear hatch, rockers, floor pans, and a few other items coming soon, so I'll be updating as I make progress.
Bear in mind, this project may and likely will take a while, as I'm also in the process of restoring my 1964 Honda S600 as well, and that car takes priority over this one.
