Well, after 1100 miles STRAIGHT in one day, and driving straight for about 16 hours left at 6am thisa.m.) , i called it quits, and stopped at a rest area... unfortuantely the truck isn't as comfy as i thought it would be, so i ran up and got a hotel a few exits up. I'm passing out here in a minute, but i'll update more tomorrow night or something. I'm somewhere past St Louis...
thanks for the well-wishes guys!

This particular truck i'm in is actually a rental... pretty cheap, and it gets better gas mileage than the F150..... oh, thats right, you don't know about the F150...

Re: (ComposiMo)
just wondering why you mounted the helper spring on the bottom instead of the top, is the helper spring a super low rate spring thats strong enough to support the weight of the main spring? if the main spring is heavy enough to compress the helper spring at all then the top of the spring will become unseated from the shock mount and could still become crooked when reloaded. this project is one of the better ones on h-t IMO because you are using the car for actual race purposes, definitely some good stuff going on in here

Re: (khaosman)
ya, motor is down again.... i seriously think there is just something wrong with this motor. What REALLY sucks, is that the car was FAST... i was driving it about 7/10 in the second run, and about 5/10 in the first... just trying to get a feel for the car since i've never driven it in that config... i was planning on going *****-out on the 3rd... but on the 2nd run, i would have been in the thick of it all, if i had not clipped a cone... i think it was in the slaloms. but it couldn't have been by much. Its all good though, i learned a lot about the car, and i'm feeling very confident about it for next year
So, for now i'll have a very expensive coffee table...
i'm not going to try with that motor again. I'm going to be doing something else... probably just buy a known-good running motor out of a wreck or something... lol!
