Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
Well I am on the west coast for the first time in my life so the build progress is on hold for a week.
I did finally relocate the oil pressure sending unit for my electronic opg last night.
I used a -6 an line from the block to the fire wall where I put a brass t that the sending unit is screwed into. Next on the agenda is to run a secondary -6 an line from the t to the head for added oil supply during high rpm. Also I will finally be upgrading part of my most of my fuel system. I am going to run the chase bays an line kit and a golden eagle fuel rail with an aem for and walbro 255 fuel pump. Then cam gears and getting it tuned on the stock internals to see what I can put down. I also am on the hunt for a 98 spec type r trans or trans internals so I can start building another type r cable trans.
So stay tuned. And I am going to have some pics up tomorrow

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
I have been trying to decide what wheels I want to use for street duty and I think I am going to go with some work meisters. but we will see how I do with money. hopefully I can get them by january cause I want to get them brand new.
and yeah I want to drop it more but I have to do some fender work and cut the lip on the inside of the frame rail. I should have it done soon and until I get my wheels I am going to get some spacers and just keep these on. and then use these wheels for the track.

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
So the fuel rail and inline filter setup is working great sorry there are no pics but all the pics were on my phone which is now toast cause all I have is a white screen and can only make calls. as soon as I get a new phone I will post more pictures.
Any way I started a new job today at a shop near my house so progress on the car should be continuing very soon. I hope that it will go at a much faster pace now then has in the past...
but any who here is the plans as soon as more cash comes into my hands.
stuff I have to buy...
Roll cage
front and rear camber kit
the rest of my energy suspension bushings
spherical rear trailing arm bushings
asr rear sub frame brace and 24mm rear sway bar
new rotors and pads front and rear.
full race traction bar
Carbon hatch
fal rear hatch glass
5 point harnesses
new seat rails (cause I dont think I am going to sell the recaros after all)
new muffler
aero catch hood pins
front canards
splitter braces
lighter faster roof plug.
arp wheel studs
Thats almost everything I can think of to complete my chassis
Engine related Items on my list
buddy club spec 4 cams
buddy club cam gears
buddy club springs and retainers
ITR 82mm pistons
shot peened gsr rods
arp rod bolts and head studs
new oil pump water pump and timing belt
thinner head gasket
LMA's
baffled oil pan
oil cooler
vented valve cover and catch can set up
hondata thermal gaskets
hondata s300
wide band 02 sensor
skunk2 intake manifold
skunk2 throttle body
type r flywheel
type r lsd
type r final drive
custom gear set that I will determine later
new motor mounts (not sure what I should go with yet)
now for the list of free or very cheap things I need to take care of
fix seam tare in driver side recaro (nice to have a girlfriend who can do upholstery)
finish cleaning the rest of the remaining crap left from the sound deadening
stitch weld key areas of the chassis
finish stripping the cabin electrical harness
Well hopefully I should have some some of this list here within the next month and then I will knocking out as the money comes in. my goal is to have it finished by spring.
so stay tuned

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
Thanks man
Thanks more progress is being made every day
I Got a new set of wheels recently. pics up later
Also I just got my some energy suspension front lower control arm bushings
and I installed a new rack and pinion due to mine being shot from trying the valve removal. I will never do that again.
I also have to re-do my front brake set-up because the legend set-up with the corrado rotors puts the calipers out to far and I can mount my new wheels. I tried 5 mil spacers but I dont want to use larger spacers cause of the wheel size.
I will have some pics up soon

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
so thanks to work I haven't been able to do that much to my car in about two months lol.
but as far as what I have done recently
installed brand new oem shift linkage with b&m dual bend short throw shifter energy suspension shift bushings and i made my own shift extender. i also put on a hurst shift handle lol.
i got my asr subframe brace in.
i installed my 94 prelude vtec rotors and got my wheels to fit.
I installed my front control arm bushings and steering rack bushings. I am going into the garage in a few to install my rear trailing arm bushings. I should be rolling my fenders soon and installing my arp extended wheel studs and back brakes.
I got a new camera so I should get some pics up soon

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
well I wasn't able to to my rear trailing arm bushings but I was able to get my brakes done along with my extended wheel studs. I only got the back extended studs in because I am waiting for my front wheel bearings. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to do my trailing arm bushings. Again I apologize for the lack of pictures I will try and have some up later today.

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
oh yes I also created the most amazing feeling shifter set up in my opinion for any b series. but i ended up using my shift extender on a b&m short throw and slammed third and snapped the extender. I had a brand new type r dual bend and was too lazy to install it. Any way the set up is as follows, brand new OEM honda b16 shift linkage, energy suspension bushings, new shift selector boot/bushing, dual bend shifter homemade shift extender and a hurst pistol grip shift ****. It is truly amazing. I wish I had pics but I am dumb and forgot to take them lol. when I install my type R shift linkage and shifter I will take pics I promise.

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
well sorry about the lack of pictures... im just lazy and i hate working on my car in the winter now that i dont have a garage.
yeah and as an update to my last update i thought the weather was going to be nicer but it was a fluke. NJ's weather has been horrible ever since Obama became president lol not saying that it is linked to that but it is an odd occurrence lol
well any way i figured i would go over my plans for this damn car in the next few weeks.
I have yet to install my rear type r sway bar but it is coming i promise.
I am going to be working on POR'ing the undercarriage and removing key items for powder coating.
I am currently looking for a 92 rear bumper cover so I can work on a project that I have had in the works for about 5 years now. its top secret but once I complete it I will have pics of the entire process for everyone to see. and as far as I know I will be the first to do it correctly lol.
I will be respraying the interior where the sound material was removed.
I am also going to be working on structural integrity of the DA9 chassis. I am moving back to my low budget building principles and I will be addressing major areas of concern on the chassis and spending as little as possible to do so.
Oh and one major update for the car, well its major to me at least, I had the driver side RECARO repaired at a local upholstery shop. I am so happy about the accuracy of the stitch repair work it was amazing. Also if you have never taken apart a Recaro srd or any other recaro for that matter I suggest you take your time and be very careful. The construction on them is amazing and it is very easy to get frustrated while trying to disassemble one. I was very proud of myself though because I was able to remove the harness guide from the seat without breaking any of the clips.
I forgot to take pics of the process but I will post a link to the how to I followed while taking them apart, it is actually the same seat I have.
how to take apart a RECARO SRD
Well anyway more for the daily in my other build thread if you are interested.
I have to change tie rods on an Envoy right now so I will be back later with some pictures for anyone who actually looks at this thread still.
