MY EM1 GOT TOTALED SO I GOT ANOTHER ONE.....CLEAN UP AND BUILD THREAD....UPDATED
Well at the end of June i was on my way to work and to make long story short i got rear ended and pushed into the car that was in front of me. I came out without a scratch from the accident but sadly my SI did not. The person behind me got blamed when it actually was not his fault but thats another story.
I knew from the day of the accident that insurance was going to total my car but i was unsure what to do. Was this a sign for me to get out of the game or to come back bigger and better. I have always loved the SIR coupes but i was not sure if that was the route i wanted to go.
Since i did have full coverage on the SI i knew that i would be getting a pretty nice check given the condition of my car. Three days after the accident my adjuster called me and said they were offering me $6700 minus a $1200 buy back. I told them it was a deal and i was off to buy another car. Given that my uncle works at a car auction i gave him a call and asked if there was anything out there worth buying. Sadly he responded no but that he knew someone who had just bought a EBP EM1 and that they were looking to sell it. We made arrangements for me to look at the car and as soon as i saw it i said ILL TAKE IT. Well now that all thats out of the way we can move onto the pics.
My plans are to swap everything from my fbp si into the ebp si. The item include...
-complete gsr swap with goodies.
-change gaskets that i missed when i did rebuild on motor
-complete tein ss suspension
-swap out all interior and include new interior goodies
-install custom alarm and possibly lojack
-install asr subframe with itr 22mm sway bar, beaks lower tie bar, blox end links, and srr purple lcas.
-complete sound system since the car is my daily and music is what keep me going.
-align front end on new si and install new hood. (eventually repaint but u need to get the car running since i drive the car daily.
-MUCH MUCH MORE BUT I CAN NOT THINK OF IT AT THE TIME.
NOW ON TO THE PICS....This is how the fbp looked once i got it home 2 weeks after the accident....
As you can see i had to use my fabrication skills to hold up the bumper so i could tow the car home
The new beast that i fell in love with at first sight. There some work to be done but i like the new car a lot.
The hood is messed up but i already got that covered
All of the work will be done by me with a lot of help from my best friend. We recently just got his car back together since it was stolen and stripped completely. I hope everyone enjoys and i will try to update everyday. The next three weeks will be nothing but school and the car. I have to get it done by then because 3 weeks from today i have to return the rental that i am driving.

Sucks about the accident, but dang, what a perfect accident where everything important was in fine shape. Looks like you can transfer everything over from one car to the other.

Yeah I was glad to find out that nothing was damaged except my condensor fan and radiaitor.
We got a lot done today and I hope to post pics weds morning. As for now I'm going to sleep to rest up so I can work on the car tomorrow morning.

Re: (2mansi)
Ok guys well its been a long three days and as much as i would to keep this thread updated daily, it seems impossible. So here is a bulk of what i have been doing the last three days. Throughout this process my best friend has been helping me. He will be the one to i owe big time when everything is said and done.
To start off i went ahead and pulled the motor out of my black si and as you can see the motor was super dirty. My plans for it are to presure wash the motor and transmission so that they are sqeaky clean. In addition i will be replacing the valve cover gasket, spark plug gasket, all the gromets, cam seals and the cam plug. Hopefully this will prevent any leaks from occuring.
As you can see here i also went ahed and removed the rear disk. I ended up replacing them with eg trailing arms so i could keep the car rolling.
Moving on.....we also removed the b16 from the blue si that i just bought and noticed that the motor had no leaks but was in a need of a good cleaning,
The engine bay was super dirty but that is nothing that a little simple green can take car of. Of course it would need some help from its friend the pressure washer.
And just for fun here is a pic of whar will be installed soon on the new car...
A lot more was done those 2 days but its hard to get a pic of everything. As for yesterday we decided to go ahead and install my suspension on the new car so that we could be done with black si for now. I was also able to clean the engine bay in the blue si and im glad to say it came out really clean. For now im going to let the pics do the talking and show the end results of all the work done the last three days.
FOr now the car sleeps and waits till monday for my best friend and me to return. Also this is what my garage looks like as of last night.

I bought the motor like that from my friend. He owns a junkyard so I got a bill of sale for the complete swap. I'm covered and that's what matter
