Mugen EF8 turbo
I had the CR-X imported from Japan back in 1998, was bone stock apart from a set of wheels. Has had the odd mods added since, a mix of new and old pics....

All painted now, MOT next so I can get it back on the road 8)
Probably could have got a better grill, but wanted a plastic one that didn't chip and look gash after a while.
And yes I committed sacrilege in some peoples eyes

Re: Mugen EF8 turbo
It was never built as a 1/4 weapon, my goal was to build a fast reliable road car and the small turbo is perfect for that as I'm making boost at 2,000rpm The drag strip was a bit of fun as we have our annual CRX meet there, only managed a 13.7 after a few runs, need a lot more seat time and a few tweaks but it should be good for 12's with full interior.

Here are some pics of the fenders and how they were made...
Started with universal fender flares...
Cut down to size so that it can be tapered to the sides so no need to modify the bumper or side skirts, should work fine with OEM bumper and sides...
Finished article...
I then had a mould made of them to produce full fiberglass copies, this was the first set...
I also had my original Mugen bumper copied as replacement would be impossible and the copies available have a terrible fit.
Test fitting the replicas...
Just to give you an idea on how much wider they are, in the pic I have 16x8 ET+20 wheels and a 20mm spacers to clear the brakes.
And how it looks now...
In the pics above the rear arch has also been flared in the same way, but obviously no moulds made of that lol.

Re: Mugen EF8 turbo
I stripped the OEM rails and bolted up some box sections, then bolted the OEM CRX rails onto the box sections. Doesn't sit tall at all, almost the same as OEM height.

Hahahah, "what's next"! I've been busy driving and enjoying it for a change, but like all of us there is always something to do....
I've currently got a B&M short shifter which I've had for over 14yrs, it's fine on the road but not very helpful on the drag strip as it's difficult to get it in gears quickly. I've just received one of the new K-Tuned adjustable shifter...
I'm also changing the 15yr old H&R coilvers - these have served me well over the years, but time for a change as they don't have dampening adjustability I've opted for a set of BC coilovers (BR type) with a 10KG/5KG spring rate.
And a set of front Skunk2 camber arms...
