Yeah, right now I'm just trying to ask around because I don't have a whole lot of time to sit here and read up on it. <--

so then how will you have time to do the swap/build?
would you like all of ht to hold your hand?

Oh I can make time for that, but I just want my simple questions answered so I can take it to the next step by actually finding the parts I need; I figure why waste time looking through irrelevant threads (of course I won't know how irrelevant they are to my needs till I read them) when I can just ask a group of people who know, get simple answers from them, then incorporate that into the project I would like to start one day.
I think I should learn about what I'm doing before actually investing time and money into doing it, I thought that would be a simple concept to understand.
But like I said, I don't have time to read what was written before, and it's much more convenient to ask people who don't mind repeating it, and that way their response answers ALL of my questions, not just bits and pieces of them. But I see that Hamstr is not one of the people who minds repeating the answers, which is fine. I'm not here to ask just you, I'm here to ask everyone.
Obviously, if my job revolved around cars, then sure, I'd be willing to learn up on this stuff because it's really interesting. But that's not my job, so I can't do that.
I'm not asking H-T to hold my hand, I just ask that someone answer my specific question so I can be on my way. Of course, when it's all said and done, I'd come back to thank anyone who helped me get it done.
EDIT: I'd also share pictures

Thanks for clearing that up for me (us).

I think this is the point, though. If i asked everyone about how to do something without doing the research first, i'd i've alot of pi**ed off people and no answers. We people doing the builds are tight on time ourselves. Just look at all it takes.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you'll have once you get the basics down. Good luck either way whenever you get around to it.
Back to the project. Charlie machined off my crank pulley at his work a few weeks ago. Brough it to work today to sandblast it. Thats done. I'm gonna have to block out Sunday to do a good job painting all these pieces i've sandblasted.
Meeting up with Matt this evening. He's letting me borrow a torques wrench and a tube of honda bond so i can get started on reassembly.
I have class tonight till 9:00, so probably won't get to anything. Tomorrow, though

Re: (turkishEF)
Just a few things this evening.
Painted the resistor box, bracket and the clutch cable bracket.
The coolant tube on the back of the block.
The "clutch release arm"?
Crank pulley (machined ala Charlie)
Chuck also got rid of "HONDA" on the bottom there and cleaned up the edges.
White car progress:
Sunroof is on.
Shampooed seats. Turned out nice!
Thats it for now. Take er easy.

Thanks, ask around, there may be one you can find somewhere for cheap.

The B16 case was effed up. For one, the shaft that the shift linkage goes over and gets bolted down to, was cracked off. Second, one of the threaded holes in the case was snapped(one of the ones that bolts to the engine on the bottom side of tranny.
I got the whole tranny for $50 and had the chance to clean it and will have new bearings installed. (maybe still the 5th gear swap)
Thanks again. The swap takes place tonight, so stay tuned.

I just finished my LS swap into my crx last week, and had kind of been putting the whole thing on hiatus. I still need to change out a wheel bearing before I get it on the road, and after reading through this thread, I'm inspired.
Off to work on the rex again, thanks for the killer thread! Oh, and hats off to attention to detail. I love powder coated suspension hardware.

Today's progress.
She rolls!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, it needs to be lowered a little more yet.
The exhaust will be upgraded shortly.
It's been two days and i already miss her.......
(again, the blocks of wood holding the car up. they were replaced with jackstands once we got the white one on the ground)
A little tech here that i'm sure has been done before. Came up with a quick solution. The hood release cable that loosens up over time and won't pop the hood anymore. Took it off, opened up a lock washer, put it in between the bracket and the ball, and squeezed it closed. This provided that little amount of tension to take up the slack.
If you know of a better way to do it, please tell me or else i'll just be doing the same thing on the black one.
Most of the underhood stuff is in: windsheild washer rez, coolant rez, battery, intake, clutch cable, speedo cable. All that's left is wiring on the drivers side (injectors, sensors, etc.)
Neither of us noobz knew if lights would work without an ECU. Now we know.
Last thing. I had started a thread earlier regarding the bumper and if i should cut out the grill. The previous owner had installed fog lights and had to cut chunks out of the grill for them. Lights are old and don't work.
I saw some pics of it removed so i tried it out, only i think i'll leave the last 2 inches or so in there. Let me know what you think. (needs finishing touches of course)
Another week of work..................and school.....Have a good one.

You shouldn't stack blocks of wood like that. lay two across then two perpendicular and continue up. It's actually more sturdy than any jack stand. I learned that playing with lincoln logs as young child

That doesn't look that bad, if you are a good cutter it would look a little better all the way opened up. Is this all-motor or boost? Either way it could be rocked either way.
Props on the hood latch. Nice remedy for running the cable differently as an alternate means of security if slack needs to be taken up.
I like white cars!
Can't wait to pick up my crx.
Also those SI wheels look hot on a eg hatch and look even hotter on that crx.
