My main thought with drivers door bar (and passengers side a bit) was ease of exit, maximum space (it tucks and follows the factory bar in the door, right against it), and I try to always have it be a bit of a "ramp"...meaning, if he gets T-boned extremely hard, the angle-down design will put theoother car more-under, and keep the force from just plowing through the car/cage. Force distribution and deflection of force are two important jobs of a door bar. They are extended to rear downbars for stiffness/force distribution , etc

Well, kind of jumping ahead in the thread, but the B16a is toast. I figured as much, but to make it quicker, I pulled the VTEC solenoid off and sure enough there was metal flakes in the filter.

Does this mean you'll be turning a new leaf with a k-swap

haha. No, I'm already way over budget for my liking for the year. If I went K, I would go H1 with a 2.4. Right now though, regionally there is no one else running in H1, and I'm not doing Nationals this year, so it would be "money wasted".

Well, I think we've found the culprit. A vertical piece of the baffle broke off and due to the scoring, I assume it got up into the pick up thus "starving" the motor.
A paddock motor swap.

I had random issues over the weekend.
Saturday practice, rev cutting at 6500.
Quals, rev cut at 7000 with CEL, but I turned the car off and lost the code.
I went into the race without a timed lap. In the race, CEL on, no VTEC, but the car revved to 8k. I ended up with the win due to a DQ.
Saturday night, I replaced the distributor in hopes of a better outcome. But, Sunday quals, I had a 7k rev cut, VTEC, and no CEL.
I put the old distributor back in and skipped the second race. I ran the third race, 8k rev cut, VTEC, no CEL, but the car was still lacking power. Anyways, I was the only one left in H2 running at the end of the weekend, so another win.
