Re: EM1 Refresh
The hot new thing is "vapor honing" - basically blasting with water and fine plastic media mixture in a cabinet. Expensive tho. I'd do engine de-greaser and pressure washer and then some scotch-brite pads and then some mothers mag/alum polish.

Re: EM1 Refresh
Yes , the aluminum on the distributor itself. The white stuff on the metal . Maybe evaporust on the solenoid ? If that doesn’t work they pop up on eBay from time without rust . The distributors and solenoids don’t look like that in south west cars . Either way, great updates and work .

Re: EM1 Refresh
Put in another little order last week few bolts for when i eventually put coilovers in, a itr shift **** , shift boot, numerous other bolts, and a power steering upper mounting bracket, i had mine powdercoated and i went with gloss black and dont really think it looks right so just went and spent the money to get the OG finish with a brand new one , bit ridiculous being $90 but ill be alot happier when its all said and done

Re: EM1 Refresh
so the cool story i was talking about... last august i posted a WTB ad on honda-tech for a 96-00 oem car cover and ofcourse with them being long discontinued i got no hits, last week i bumped the post and received a message the next day from a guy saying he has one from his 98 4dr he sold and that he bought a 99-00 hatch but it was too long so he got the right one for the hatch and had this one sitting in a storage tub for over a year and said give him a offer, i replied simply just give me a price shipped since i wasn't really sure on a price since i never see them available. ( This was around 10pm at night ) so i woke up next morning with a text around 8am saying send me a pic of your car.. so i didn't ask why i just did and he said anything done to it? said no bought it all stock just been refreshing it and has a set of recaros thats all, he replies ive decided to RAK you..( me clueless says huh?) he responds Randon Act of Kindness i rather see it go to someone who's a fan of old hondas, just cover shipping and ill send it to you so i sent it thinking im gonna end up with a box of rocks sent to my house which is why i didn't tell anyone about this whole thing incase i didn't actually get the cover but it came in today and its minttt so nice never thought id find one never mind for basically free crazy guy made my year and once i opened the box and seen it wasn't full of rocks i sent him some more money to show my appreciation but thought id share that story my mind is still blown guy went out of his way to message me, than package it, go to ship it and for nothing in return and he also stated he works at honda and it retailed at $180+ and has been discontinued so he knew what he had

Got alot done today finally felt i got pretty much everything in the engine bay done that i wanted so i went ahead and did the valve cover and exhaust manifold cover today along with all new nuts on the valve cover and spark plug cover and a couple brackets i had powdercoated a while ago, new dipstick, post mount nuts , breather tube and clamps etc. It came out amazing, looks so good and extremely happy with it just got to put the strut bar back on then i can focus on the suspension next

Re: EM1 Refresh
The ground wire is like $8 . Itrca posted a nice way to refresh the ground if Honda discontinued it.... the products are probably $5 lol.
